The show was real and it goes live to air in the mornings, but the guy did it for his own sketch show called "the chasers war on everything" which Sunrise the morning show didn't know anything about.

Ok this morning while watching channel seven they revealed that they staged the whole thing for Channel 2's (ABC Australia) Chaser's War On Everything program. They filmed it as a skit for that program and never went live to air. Some people might say whay would a rival network help another out...well things are a bit different here down in Australia.

Its about half way down the page for those looking for it under the title " Sunrise 'interview' grabs world attention "
So the moral of this is dont believe everything you see on TV.
