Exciting stuff!
Water is the fuel, but it still needs electricity to change it into HHO gas. How much electricity is needed?

A power plant, by producing the electricity needed to convert that H20 into HHO, is polluting the environment more (considering it isn't a wind based power plant, which one can safely do as very little overall power in the world comes from such sources) than the amount of gasoline to drive the same distance being put into your car would have polluted the environment. For a good source on the issue, check Wikipedia for pages on hydrogen fuel.

xplosive you make a good point but if you think almost every peice of electrical equipment, vcr's, mobile phones, computers, stereos, tvs almost everyhitng started of huge in size and crappy in quality but as more people learn about and understand this type of equipment the smaller and more efficient it will become, i think anyways.

the waste product is water but unless you use windpower or something similar that thing is useless

lol at above ^^

I think you will find we have things such as batteries? this provides the electricity needed, and can be charged up quite simply. put it this way, it saves fuel, thats better than nothing especially in this day and age!

"Has this guy been found dead yet? They always do..."

That's true. The big inventor in water power was Stan Meyer who ended up poisoned.

Do a search for "Stan Meyer"

Legend has it he was offered $1B for the technology from the Saudi Royals.
B*llshit, or not?

He was a pretty clever guy.

With the electricity needed to convert it why not just run your car on the electricity and remove the whole water step.

Unbelievable.

If this is as stable as water, that means we will see cars running on that probably in 5 years.

The major problem with hydrogen powered cars is that the hydrogen tank can cause a catastrophic explosion if damaged in an accident.

But I agree, if you use fossil fuel to generate the electricity necessary to convert the water into HHO, this would be totally useless. But if they use clean ressources such as solar, hydro or wind, you guys can say bye bye to:

1: global warming
2: pollution
3: wars in middle east
4: these damn greedy oil companies

fossil fuels are a limited sources so isn't water a limited source too? I think we should rather pursue the ethanol route than water. both will cost the same per gallon but we don't need ethanol to survive so we should use ethanol as a car fuel instead of hydrogen.

^ The waste product of the process is water, although I don't know what percentage of the original, but regardless, I think the total effect on the world would be close to none, as when the gasses expelled hit the atmosphere... you get rain.

It all really depends on how much electricity it requires to perform the electrolysis. If it's not much, then wind-power combined with this would be very effective at powering large cities.
