Parrots are much more intelligent than your average sparrow most people see. They tend to need anywhere from 6-8 hours of attention daily. They are a lifelong investment. Living anywhere from 70-100+ years.

I work with birds that are very similar to this macaw. This one is looks like a Catalina (mix of a blue and gold macaw and a Green wing). They tend to be mild tempered and tend to have an easy going personality.

I work with a bird that is only 8 years old, but has the ability to say over 300+ words and phrases. Imagine what they would be like at about 80 years old. Science has only begun to rethink how birds interpret sounds and their cognitive skills. I'd have to say birds are much more intelligent than people give them credit.
