AhumbleKnight, you have to remember the movie was released here in May 2002, meaning any decision would have been made probably December at the latest, because the climactic scene was supposed to involve the twin towers too and had to be reshot. This was the safe decision for the studio to make, and studios will always make the safe decsion.

the 9/11 attacks happened shortly after this trailer was put into theaters. Since the movie takes place in the present (the movie premiered the next may) it was appropriate to remove the towers from the movie.

It wasn't banned, it was dropped because the towers played a role in the storyline so they practically had to re-write the whole thing, you can still see WTC reflected in Spider-Man's eyes in some scenes.

And whoever thinks 9/11 wasn't an inside job is clearly in Denial and needs to buy themself some common sense. those towers were blown to the ground by demolision explosives...not because of jet fuel on a couple of floors...the towers are the only buildings in history to have "collapsed because of fire" no one seems to remember that in 1939 the empire state building had a fire on 14 floors yet it didn't collapase, the fact that we buyed that excuse is proof that us Americans are the most gullable people in human history...

Wow dex.... you sure are stupid. Ever hear of Occam's Razor? It's a logical principle that says that the simplest solution is usually the correct one. What's more likely: a vast evil shadow conspiracy or pissed off muslims?

It explains why the fire was a major factor even if it wasn't the sole reason for the collapse. Buildings have massive structural redundancies and as is often the case it was a series of less severe failures that led to their destruction.

Now as for demoltion explosives, anyone who has seen one of the documentaries on explosive demoltion on the history channel can see that theory is full of holes. Do you understand how much preparation it takes to implement a precision blast? Non-structural material first needs to be cleared away from beams and columns. Then the steel members need to be strategically weakened by partially cutting through them, concrete members need to have holes drilled in order to correctly place explosive charges. Shape charges need to be strapped to steel strucural pieces, conventional explosives placed in the pre-drilled holes and then the whole thing wired together. This is not a quick process and it's not an inconspicuous one. There is no way in hell you could wire even one floor without being noticed.
Before you suggest that they just delivered a pallet of C-4 or something similar let me first say NO. That would be obvious in the extreme, a blast big enough to be effective without being precise would be clear as day, not merely slightly inconsistent with what a layperson might expect to see. Either it was the most subtle, precise, secret, NINJA demolition in the history of mankind or it didn't happen. Again, consider Occam's Razor.

Another point to consider: the collapse begin at the points where the planes impacted the buildings. What an odd coincidence. SO either the sinister boogyman (or men) behind this plot were able to plan flying planes precisely into a specific predesignated, prepped floor while hurtling over the NY city skyline at 600 mph (880 feet per second btw) or MAYBE just MAYBE some angry religious zealots executed a terrorist attack. Gee, I can't decide, your paranoid bullshit seems so plausible.

I admit I'm bored and the blindly ignorant things you said are worthy of nothing but being ignored but I do get tired of seeing your shit dumb argument being bandied about by you and your idiot kind.

P.S. I hope you were wearing your tinfoil hat when you wrote that comment otherwise they were able to read your brainwaves with their satellites and therefore know that you're on to them. Obviously that can't be tolerated, so if in fact your brainwaves were exposed I'm sure that that their black budget space laser is homing in on your parent's basement as I'm typing this.

Please don't post essays about whether 9/11 was planned or not, there's thousands of websites that we can visit when we're bored. It was a good trailer, and it sucks that it had to be pulled, but it was released right before 9/11 and they had every reason to pull it after.

Like others have said, this trailer wasn't banned, they decided not to use it. I don't understand why people say that Americans are so touchy just because they pull a fucking trailer out of RESPECT for people who died. Yeah, they could have shown the trailer. Would people complain? Probably a few, but thats the same in any country. Would enough people that matter complained? No. So its not that they HAD to pull the trailer, they felt pulling the trailer was correct and morally sound.

Why does everything have to be twisted into anti-American crap? I don't understand why people hate Americans so much. Hate Bush, go ahead, we all fucking do. The bastard has a 32% approval rating for a reason. But why hate on Americans?
