That is weird about the belly button. There is a theory that the red cloth around god is meant to be an accurate depiction of the shape of the uterus, and that the green scarf could be a just cut umbilical cord. Maybe there's some sort of link to the belly button. It's all a bunch of guessing, but usually these paintings contain a large amount of purposeful symbolism.
