Britain Loses Nuclear War

Most of the UK gets wiped off the map in under 4 minutes. This intense scene is taken from the BBC movie "Threads" (1984). On release it led to millions of people joining CND. The political influence of the film is so strong it is still proscribed in many nuclear armed countries.

The movie runs for two hours and covers the initial set up, the very short nuclear exchange, and the horrific next 13 years.
It's one of those movies that, when it ends, you just sit there in the dark unable to move.

Wikipedia has a good page on the movie and its sociopolitical impact.
You can normally find the movie with bittorrent

Realistic? No.

But it gets the point across rather well. Kinda scary when you think about the type of people who are controlling these kinds of weapons. I just hope that when they launch these fuckers at us, I'm A, right underneath or B, already dead.

Another movie made about the same time, "The Day After", was a really good nuclear war movie, as well. But "Threads" scared the hell out of me.
