After playing the Armored Core series Mechwarrior just seems like Rockem Sockem Robots with lasers.

I can`t wait for this although that`s technically not ingame footage, it`s more like a scripted movie using the game engine.

Meh. I love mech style sims so I`ll be looking out for this one. I played the original mechwarrior on a 486. It`s one of the first 3d games for pc.

does look pretty cool, and i like the hiding behind buildings addition to the gameplay, but imo the originals suffered a lot from lack of mobility. sure you had jumpjets but the mechs were still so slow compared to the pace of most other fps shooters, and most games i played ended up being just slugfests with minimal tactics. in this demo they still look pretty slow and unwieldy which is disappointing, i mean surely sometime in the future they figure out how to make robots move quickly, ok it`s massive but so are all the joints and motors!

I always found that concentrated fire on the legs helped me out on the previous mechwarrior games.
They got no legs....you got no worries :)
And has anyone here remember (or seen) the B grade movie Robojocks?...that would be a good game for the wii.

^Shit I remember the Atlas they were the biggest mechs I think. Also remember the one that had a shitload of rockets on the top of the cockpit. Wonder what that one was called anyone know? Ohh and the hammer remember it sucked ass.

I was hoping for an improvement from 10 years ago. But it seems that the controls and movement are the same(Apart from hiding behind things)..except with better gfx. Slightly Disappointed.

The one with a `shitload of rockets` on the top was actually not just 1 mech. The Inner Sphere version was the Catapult, which will likely be in this game, and the Clan version which is based on the Cat, is the Mad Cat, although since the time frame of this game is prior to the Clans, that won`t make an appearance.

And yes, the Atlas is one of the biggest mechs out there at 100 tons, although there are a few others that rival it in size and firepower.

I`m definitely looking forward to this game, been playing Mechwarrior games since they first came out.

@The EvilBat - Hell yeah I remember Robojocks, I used to watch that damn movie all the time! haha B grade or not, it was robots fighting each other and that was awesome.
