Ah the Sixties... when smoking was still cool and school teachers were smokin` hot.

Think I might buy this movie. My collection is distinctly Hitchcock-less so far. Great upload!

^I couldn`t agree more.. Some movies you just don`t touch. They`re probably going to add some Hans Zimmeresque soundtrack to it, make the birds completely CGI and transplant the story to downtown Manhattan..

In any case, all-knowing Wikipedia states the following: "Development has been stalled since the original announcement in 2007. On June 16, 2009, Brad Fuller of Dimension Films stated that no further developments had taken place, commenting "We keep trying, but I don`t know.""

Let`s hope they`ll never know and just leave this film in peace..

don`t really get why this is a famous scene. or why this was a good movie. generation gaps i guess. to me it`s just a scene with birds attacking. not really suspenseful. the crows sound like ducks and the kids music is just a regular song doesnt sound creepy at all

anyone care to explain why this scene is infamous?

@slimshady8248: the reason why it`s such a famous scene is because it`s one the greatest examples of building suspense before the action bursts out. The constant intercutting between the lead actress looking and acting nervous and a slightly growing number of crows on the playground behind her before pausing on her slightly longer and then being confronted with a playground full of crows builds up the suspense. The film itself doesn`t have a musical soundtrack, so the children`s song is also used as a way to build suspense, underscore the arrival of the crows and add a somewhat creepy vibe to the whole scene.

Still, Good movie!

PS: You know the movie industry is in dire straits when it`s a remake fest after another, the worst I think is Hulk. Recently too renditions were made in 2003 & 2008. Barely 5 years in between. Why not release one each year no? Meh.

PPS: OMG, I had totally forgotten the awesome noises they used for the birds! LOL, I`d love to see what was actually used, since in those days they actually used props. Must of been some funny looking apparatus! :)
