Wow, that`s just asinine. What can you expect from private insurance though?

There are two basic ways to increase profit: reduce costs or deliver a product that makes you more popular. Health insurers seem to have found a third - charge a premium price for basically no service at all because the alternative is either bankruptcy or death and even then you get a high chance of both anyway.

^ I know, right? Get married at 20, poop out some babies, stay in the kitchen, make me some pie.

See? no rape!

@ thedevilstaco
your comment lacks in any logic. As stated by()utsider there is no such thing as places that are rape safe zone. Rape can occur anywhere, one of the most common places is home, so are you telling me that one shouldn´t go home.

Anyone notice he is saying she was rejected for "Life Insurance" Listen to what he says at one minute. The guy is making a joke. You can see it in his face. Rmember the John Bobbit news story about how re-attaching his penis wasn`t covered by his insurance because having a penis was a considered a pre-existing condition. Its the same joke recycled. We need a better health care system not fake news because if you tell people about this it will make YOU seem stupid. Anyway, I still can`t get over how well that 6 yearold boy landed that balloon.

^ I noticed that, freedog. Personally, I think the guy just can`t get his terminology right because he clearly was and is talking about health insurance, not life insurance. (Just one more reason why it is bullshit to call it health `insurance.`)

That said, it`s just another anecdote being pulled out to one-side the debate in favor of a public option. Yeah, these things are always a bitch for the people involved, but it completely ignores equally-valid anecdotes that don`t support a government-run HMO.

A pattern shown in socialized countries is that early diagnosis and intervention suffers because of a lack of trained professionals; the system is stretched thin for having to treat absolutely everyone. Sure, folks get all the best *after* their diagnosis, but there`s the rub. Three months delay in diagnosing an agressive cancer generally has a negative impact on survivorship.

But no negative anecdotes for me, I am confident that my country of residence has little to do with the fine care I have received here and would have received in almost any well-developed part of the world.

Why didn`t he say why she lost her insurance in the first place? Maybe that`s more relevant to her not getting ANOTHER coverage than the fact that he got raped. This crucial piece of information might be the only thing that could transform this story everybody uses from propaganda into something more reasonable. Leaving out information seems to be the best tool of misinformation these days. Just like Fox News takes words out of context, so does this story leaves out data that might be crucial.
Instead of desperately trying to get in the health care business, the government should maybe spend a bit more time regulating these things if the people feel the insurance companies are not playing fair. The health insurance companies want to make profit, you can`t change that, so they`ll try to fuck you in the ass for everything you have if the laws ALLOW them. The government is trying to tell you that they`ll come in and only make 3% overhead instead of 30%... That`s unlawful competition right there and more likely they`ll start liking making profits and join the other health insurance companies in ripping your ass. Remember the debt of the US, that has to be payed somehow! Raising taxes sounds too bad but health insurance can be more profitable, especially when you`re the governing body and you can make your own laws! This is just a too easy way to make money for the government to pass. You don`t thrust the US gov with the way they defend the country and you`re trying to say they`ll do a better job providing health insurance!?
Americans should know, more than any other people that political propaganda always has two sides and I think most of you are one sided on this issue and refuse to analyze the data in greater detail.
So enjoy this piece of democrat propaganda and keep lying to yourself saying only republicans use deceit and misinformation to fool the public!

You are the government -,- the government are elected representatives that you choose.
next time run for yourself or raise question to the candidates on the next election(any election major or president) get involved.
I live in Canada and needed an ultra sound to check if i had cancer I only waited a month. But if its sever and life threatening then no they wont make you wait 3 months -,-.
secondly why is making a 3% profit unlawful competition? that`s why people don`t like Americans they are greedy and they fuck over anyone to make more money,30% seems the rip off here. 3% of a billion $ is 30million that`s a good profit.
you guys are despicable got no problem spending 3 TRILLION on a stupid as ILLEGAL war but helping people "fuck no!!"
