It`s no news that the occipital lobe of the brain can still fire signals thus creating the illusion of sight. In some cases the lobe becomes hyperactive and a person could actually start to have what the layman might label as "visions". But this all requires the person to have experienced sight in order to define the shapes, otherwise what they would get is just things (in color presumably) that the person in question would fail to recognize as shapes due to lack of experience.

What this man has done is understand space in 3D by basically using abstractions. It`s similar to what you and I would do in order to understand something as unimaginable as a 4th dimension. Remarkable.

To comprehend what this man see`s is just amazing. Not ever knowing what anything looks like and drawing it blows me away.

he fucked the drawing up, added two more sides than what you could see from the front. come on it even says he has a mutation, this doesn`t prove anything in the case of other people and how they perceive the world, its well known that when you lose sense the other senses grow. I`m more concerned with his use of colour than his ability to draw depth, something isn`t right here.

^ I was thinking the same thing about the extra sides.. so instead he drew an 13 sided pillar, whatever it`s called.

But I bet you the correlation is between what he touches and feels and what he draws. His methods were interesting; at 8:10 you see him using the screw on the clipboard as a reference point to draw lines and angles..

So try this. Close your eyes and imagine your house, turn it upside down and paint it blue, or pink if you like. The process in the brain that enables you to do that is roughly the same for Esref except that he translates images into memory physically, then interacts with them mentally.

^^fucked the drawing up? It wouldnt matter if the buliding had 26 sides, the pupose of the drawing wasnt to recreate the structure per se, it was to use a specific vantage point and converge all lines appropriately with the horizon, which he did..and hes fucking blind
