Police Force Quits After Lottery Win

A town's entire police force has quit in Hungary after winning more than £10 million in the lottery.

The 15-strong squad in Budaors scooped the jackpot with their ticket on Tuesday and all resigned on the spot.

Police chiefs have scrambled back-up units to the region until more full-time officers can be recruited.

It was the sixth biggest win in Hungarian lottery history, reports the Daily Telegraph.

i suppose none of the officers enjoy their work or like the community they serve in? so once they have no need for a source of income, they just leave their jobs?

yea, i agree. there should be a law restricting people from quitting government jobs. maybe then, people would realize that their government is concerned only with it`s amount of power of revolt. we should be so lucky.

but then i`m a libertarian and i`m still searching for the first government project done properly.

There are such laws like that for `public servants` going on strike. firemen, police, and the like are all prohibited from striking by law for obvious reasons. if the police decide to do it anyway, they`ll bring in police from other counties to take care of the situation

I just wasnt sure about the whole quitting in mass numbers thing. I`m sure if they all gave their two-weeks it wouldn`t have been a problem

I`d quit my job in a heartbeat if I won the state lotto. I`d call my boss and give her half days notice. Then again, I work in a store and deal with assholes every day as well.
