the problem is healthier food will tend to help the body and brain operate more efficiently, which means tons less profits for the health-care and pharmaceutical industries and likely an increase in well-being and intelligence among a large portion of the population, which seems to be the last thing anyone with power wants.
a population of people capable of critical thinking would overthrow the status quo.

As long as we exist within a monetary profit driven system, we will end up with the cheapest/ highest grossing products. That is because in such a system it is those who can put humanity aside in order to turn a profit who make it to the highest positions in the system. These people will continuously try to put profit over people. And why not? That is what the system calls for.

Until the masses can learn that the ONLY worth a thing has is its benefit to humanity. EVERYTHING else is utter bullshit. Well, its worth to humanity tempered by the resources it takes to create I guess would be a more apt summery of value.

That`s why I keep telling people about free money. Look it up. It worked in the great depression and the US government has been testing and sturdying small groups of it since the 70s.

Google the Worgl Experiment.

ow, you have to read that, it`s not a video, but I think it is well worth the read if you would like to learn one of the many solutions to our failed system.

The organic vs non-organic debate is bullshit, at least according to penn & teller`s special. So if this is about eating organically and all that, its a pile of crap. They did raise 2 very good points though:

Corn is very heavily subsidized in this country, making corn products cheap and putting corn in just about everything we eat regardless. And we also have an inflated beef/poultry system thats making meat too inexpensive compared to vegetables and fruit.

--------------------------------------

Cheap food isn`t bad. Cheap food is good. Unhealthy food is bad, and cheap != unhealthy, btw. Or at least it only does in America, and only because of the gross subsidies in place.

^^ What a shallow observation
Think about it. If you had food that actually made your body healthier instead of just making cheap food. then your body would have a better immune system.

Sure everyone gets sick, but people with poor diets get sick all the time..

They mention bigger, faster, and cheaper, but they forget to mention better. Fact is many foods can be genetically altered to be more beneficial and healthy then their organic counter products. Whether it be genes for resisting disease to production of more essential nutrients. I hate how people jump on the organic bandwagon without researching all the science in the past decade that has progressed agriculture through technology.

Its still wrong however that corporations can monopolize the food industry into a corn nation. This doesn`t have anything to do with organic vs. non organic, but has to do with allowing for farmers to grow foods that people want and not suffer repercussions due to lack of government subsidies.

K. Silk Soy Milk costs $3.99-4.99 at my local super market, they have now released Organic Silk Soy Milk, however, its $4.49-5.49, a whole $.50 more for the organic. I`m all for staying healthy, but if its going to put a dent in my wallet to pick the non-genetically altered consumables, in this economy, I`d rather die from ambiguous studies and boohoo unhealthy diets than cold, in the streets begging for food.
