Ice Cube is a Hip Hop luminary. He wrote the vast majority of NWA`s pre-100 Miles and Runnin` songs with the exception of Ren`s verses. He`s probably the most significant MC in West Coast Rap. (Dre being the most significant West Coast producer).

@etranze - I`m not saying you`re wrong, I`ve just never heard anything about Cube stealing for Eazy E. From everything I`ve read, it was the other way around, with Eazy E either stealing money, or at least being complicit in the stealing of money, from all of the other members of NWA. They didn`t even get a third of what they should have for their albums and concerts. That`s why Cube, and eventually Dre, left.

I`m not saying Cube`s discography is perfect. Everything post Predator has been okay at best. The "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It" remix was pretty outstanding though.

Still, there`s no denying that Ice Cube was a top-notch lyricist, and a major factor in the West Coast`s rise to prominence.
