Uhm, so? It`s not really a scam. No one loses anything. They didn`t make the life insurance, the company did and now they suddenly decide that they should get the money? I don`t understand, why should companies pay for something that`s not actually a crime at all?

Who cares if your employer wants to take out life insurance on you. How the hell can people win these lawsuits if the employers are buying the insurance. Fucking greedy relatives.

It`s unethical to allow some random person to take a life insurance policy on a stranger. It creates motive to want that person dead or at the least creates a conflict of interest.

corporations by law are considered legal entities. they have the same rights as you and me and are protected by the bill of rights. For all intents and purposes they are people in the eyes of the law. If a stranger can`t take a policy out on you then why should a corporation?

I can understand insurance policies on certain high value employees like rare R&D specialists and CEOs because you`re insuring their contribution to the company not their life. That`s just wrong and goes against the spirit of the law that stands.

^ Thanks for explaining it to the "free market" fundamentalists who`s knees automatically jerk in salute to anything companies do, because corporate rights are the ultimate foundation of all morality, right?

One more point though, apparently the companies do it for a tax break. Unless a reduction on taxes was the intended purpose for allowing companies to buy life insurance on employees (which it definitely was not), then it`s a tax loophole that should be closed. That simple. If the companies deserve a tax break for some reason, then that reason must be clear and directly accounted, not implemented by weird and unethical means.

^^Have you taken a look around at America lately? Ethics have gone out the window a long time ago, its all about making record profits and fucking over anybody that gets in the way (not all businesses but most of the major ones). The relatives do not deserve a penny of the money because the insurance was not purchased by them.

^Thank you. At least the companies had the decency to make life insurance.

This whole anti-company/corporation/whatever mindset is bullshit. Take a minute and think how your life would be without those enterprises. Yes, you`ll have no television, no food, no paycheck, no place to live. You`ll be reduced to living in a hut made of manure and eating whatever food you can grow. Sounds good?

Your argument is invalid. You might want to take a logic course or two before you go thinking out loud again.

So just because they provide you with a service gives them the right to treat you like shit? If that`s how you wanna live be my guest, let the world walk all over you.

Those of us with self-respect believe that it doesn`t matter whether you`re a CEO or a bank teller or a car washer. If you`re human your entitled to rights and equality. China believes that the communist party deserve better than everyone else since they provide the country with jobs and opportunity. If you wanna live under their absolute rule be my guest.

The $1,579,399.10 is what got her to go nuts and greedy. Husband died and all she cares about is what the company or corp. purchased for her husband. Its greed on both ends. But she just wants an easy win.

^You over look the fact that since this is legal the employer could direct their employees into harms way so as to increase their odds of cashing in on these sorts of policies. That sort of increases the wrongful death aspect of situations like the one you are discussing.
