This is a complete beat up. Are they seriously advocating having a private defense force, no public education system and every road and town hall lined with corporate sponsorship? How about a private police force where protection from criminals is driven by reducing costs and finding efficiency.

Notice they also don`t have the balls to come right out and say it: "I don`t think poor people need to eat or have a right to see a doctor".

The arteries of Big Government lie in taxation. Take away that and we can easily eliminate it`s outrageous and unaffordable taxation. Economic progress does not come from stealing from some and giving to the poor. In fact if there were no income taxes, business would boom so quickly in America that unemployment would be virtually non-existant and competition would drive prices down to new lows, which would help maximize our standards of living while at the same time providing tremendous incentives for people to invest and make something of themselves. Socialist Big Government ideas simply increase the number of people dependent upon government and discourages the individual and entrepreneur. This all makes for a poorer economy and that hurts the average person the most.

Also, Income taxes are unconstitutional. They presume that the government owns all our income and property and we`re merely allowed to keep a fraction of it that they shall dictate. Way to go Penn & Teller!

As most people on this site seem to believe (me included). The Economy is bullshit, it is fake, based on nothing, and the biggest house of cards/ bullshit ever to be invented and adopted by us as a society. So that means taxes are bullshit.

Socialism, (if you remove the economy) is treating your neighbor they way you would like to be treated. And is the way it should be.

This is all selfish bullshit. In real world, not all of us could be rich. The majority of the people who are not wealthy provide the cheap labor that these rich people exploit to gain their wealth. The regular people also are they ones that they rely on to buy their products and services. In a factory, the owners set aside a portion of their revenue to pay for the maintenance and repair of the machines because they know that when the machines break down the factory becomes unproductive. The regular people are the machines that drive the economy. Who would maintain, support and help the regular working people if the rich people who are greatly benefiting from them would not help pay for their care? Do these rich people really think that poor people just grow from the ground and sprout everywhere like mushrooms that they can just harvest and exploit without paying? If Penn & Teller could conjure up, with their great magic, a world where I, as a person, could become rich on my own hardwork alone without relying on other persons to work for me, to patronize my service or buy my products then I could really say that I do not owe anybody anything and that I am entitled to all my wealth! Otherwise, they were just being greedy and ungrateful!

This is pretty retarded. I personally don`t like taxes, but it really doesn`t bother me that I have to pay them if they go to the right places. Rather than argue for no taxes, one should argue for better tax funding.

Why?

Because taxes fund public goods: maintenance of roads, fire fighters, police, and student education grants for example.

Most people are selfish so they take advantage of these things while not wanting to contribute to them. How are you going to get to work if the roads you drive on has a ridiculous number of potholes? Who`s going to put out your house fire? Without tax money to pay fire fighters for their services, are we going have them charge us a fee every time they put out a fire?

"Sorry Ma`am, seems like you don`t have enough money, so we can`t save your baby and cat from your burning house."

This doesn`t mean I`m for welfare programs that pays for "Shaniqua" to have her 10 kids. You can cut those, and even lower taxes. Just provide enough tax money to adequately run public goods programs for productive citizens.

God...people are fucking selfish.

^ maybe your state taxes do. roads are funded with taxes on fuel. fire departments and police departments are locally funded.

federal taxes pay for services that dont work; medicare, medicade, the post office, amtrack, etc and so forth.

if its selfish to think that the private sector can deliver all of the services the government tries to provide (short of defense), better, and cheaper. then selfish i am.

Medicare works! Just try and tell the old folks that the govt is taking away their medicare and see what response you get. Medicare does not produce any profit because it is never profitable to insure the old and the disabled people. Even if you could, don`t you think it would be obscene and immoral to profit from the frailty health and existing illness of these most vulnerable members of our society? You think private health insurance companies will take over Medicare without asking for govt subsidies? Those companies are already being subsidized by the govt just for providing Medicare Part C.

Medicaid works for the poorest of our population. Again, you think private health insurance companies would be willing to take over Medicaid and provide health insurance to the poor for little or no money without asking for govt subsidies or are you saying we just get rid of Medicaid and let the poor people die without seeing a doctor?

Post office is losing money because many people are now communicating via internet. In spite of that, USPS has to deliver mail to farthest and most isolated places in the USA for the same amount of money that it charges to deliver your mail to your neighbor. Yet again, you think a private company would be willing to take over the post office operations without jacking up the fees and asking for some govt money?

Amtrak is losing money because of competitions from cars and commercial aviation. Amtrak`s competitions are significantly more heavily subsidized by the gov`t by building federal roads, highways and airports and providing security for air travel. Amtrak is also heavily taxed by the states that it services. Still Amtrak exists because it serves the need of the people aside from it being the most energy efficient way of transporting people. You think private companies would do better without asking the govt for increased subsidies?

True, those services are causing the gov`t to lose money but it could be argued that those services exist for the common good of the people. Letting private companies to take over them would be just like hiring a middleman. It would just end up costing the gov`t, and the people they are supposed to serve, more.

Life is not like a monopoly game where the player with the most money wins. You can croak anytime and you know what they say: "You cannot take your money with you." LOL.

We are here to take care of each other. We have to or mankind will not survive. We are all connected to each other. Don`t be so shortsighted and selfish.
