Omg this makes me so angry because they have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. Glen Beck and his buddies don`t understand the symbolism of the tank metaphor, they just like to add snide remarks to a clip that intends to teach young children to be responsible and expect that same responsibility from their leadership. It is totally the duty of the government to look after its people. To suggest otherwise is retarded. That`s why it is involved in the things that look after people, police, military, firemen.

I love how they automatically make the ultimate leap from GOvernment wanting to look after people= communist china. Um, how about all those governments that look after their people and aren`t china or russia, or other insert collapsed system here(that will be the US soon if things keep going this way). How about denmark, Canada, Switzerland, insert social capitalist nation here?

I wish someone would kick Glen BEck in his despotism.

Edit: In no way do I think China is a failed system, but the west does like to demonize it I think as a failed system.

Technically, a government for and of the people, is the people VOLUNTARILY looking after themselves and each other.

Sure that can and does go way out of whack one way and another depending where you look. But the central problem is obscenely rich motherfuckers re-writing and corrupting all the rules and all the systems into pure profit engines FOR THEMSELVES AT PUBLIC EXPENSE. It`s no longer voluntary public good, it`s do what you`re told to make me money.

One of the reasons China is ahead is that they haven`t been able to afford anything above a bare (and cruel) minimum public good. They adopted that ethic enough that they still shoot fuckers who fraud and cheat, at least when they kill people. Unlike in the USA, where fraud and cheat is the premier way to top, and people still cheer for obscene wealth so much they look the other way, as long as it`s not their friends or family who died.

It doesn`t matter what political system it is, if it`s honestly for the public good, it`s all about equal in the end, because everyone has a chance to get a fair share for their work, and they feel happy enough to help each other by whatever means works (taxes, charity). It`s when a few greedy fuckers skim ALL the cream off the top, that everyone gets desperate and ugly and people with problems start falling through the cracks of what should have been a compassionate society.

Lolz at all the China comments. Have you ever been to China? Do any of you know anybody well that has lived in China? They`re actually doing pretty well in many places. The news spins stories that you and I would consider normal into "communistic oppression."

That brings up my next point. We talk about this oppression all the time as if it is the product of capitalism, but what is communism`s responsibility then? If that`s your opinion, then why don`t we talk about their system that doesn`t defend the rights of its people?

The problem isn`t capitalism anyway. Capitalism in a pure form is fine, but we have is a very wealthy, very rich oligarchy running things now. This oligarchical system is confused with capitalism because that`s what our country was built on. Don`t blame capitalism. Blame a system that lets the wealthy corrupt what WAS a much better system of government.

Excellent post by exploder by the way. I agree with him on many of his points.

I`ve seen that video they are talking about AND what`s happening here is ignorant beyond belief.

Snippets of the video can be taken any which way, they do NOT capture the meaning/point in which the entire video holds.

If someone wants to form an opinion on that video they should watch it themselves.

By listening to some lackey go on about words in a sentence defeats the point of the sentence or idea. He should discuss the idea..
