Who uses a bayonet these days? Don`t quote me, but he stated something like, I climbed the river bank and bayoneted him. He was alive when it when in, but dead when it came out.

I have a step uncle in the S.A.S. and I`m not allowed to meet him. He`s been through 3 divorces too. Because he`s been doing it so long, he apparently never fully switches off.

But just to either start or nip discussions in the bud, NATO SF can`t be ranked as "the best". It is widely agreed that S.A.S. units (British, Australian, New Zealand) are regarded as the best, especially the British. This is because of their proven experience and effectiveness in all combat situations on all levels from urban raids, to recon, to wartime roles, war-games/drills against other SF etc. They`re the Swiss army knife of special forces and every tool is super sharp. However considering forces like the SEALS, they are very good at what they do which is generally maritime only missions etc. So it`s very hard to say one is better than the other all-round except for S.A.S.

^I`m mexican, and not particularly fond of USA, but you CANNOT beat: parachuting in a boat from an airplane and sniping 3 guys on another boat. However, I guess there must be instances that were less publicised and just as kickass.

I`ve been in Infantry/Combat but never ever imagined of going into the special forces. It requires too much physical fitness/mental toughness that people who have never been in the military would understand.

I attempted to sign up for the Australian SAS and passed the first round of test only to be knocked back for a past medical condition which left me shattered because Ill never get to experience what I wanted to.
