Maglev Wind Turbine

This Maglev Wind Turbine Powers 750 Thousand Homes. Thats right, 750000. Thats more than one entire power station. One of these wind turbines requires less than 100 acres.

Nice, looks rather cheap to make too, low maintenance, but what happens when there`s no wind? They just use huge capacitor/batteries in case??

Less than 100 acres sounds like a lot of land to me. Considering how many you`d need.

`Has the ability to replace 500 wind turbine`? I really doubt that even if its efficiency is as high as they say. It covers a small area and furthermore, it`s on the ground. This is being compared to 500 wind turbine, covering a much larger area, and about 400ft in the air.

this would be expensive as hell to build. maglev turbines are very cost prohibitive and do require a lot of maintenance. but this is a great first step toward what we need to see.

The triple sail stabilizer is a great feature that is unexpectedly simple and effective. smaller versions of these should be considered in building designs for rooftop power supplements.

the one in the vid appeared to have been built on top of a hill, i guess that`s what sorts out the height problem. i can believe it`s that powerful, seeing the fan blades which are much better than the windmill type (look at ur cpu fan btw for confirmation). only probalem is getting some pollies to actually buy some...

...and then it turns out to be a giant land scam, sounds too good to be true

paper, it`s better than the exiting turbines for ratio. And couldn`t you stack the damn things?????

and thundersalmon. "cost prohibitive" is a bit of a weak argument when a new oil supply cost 3 trillion.

I love when ignorant know-it-alls go shooting off their fingers typing shit they have neither the technical know-how, nor the logical inference, to back up.

100 acres vs miles upon miles upon miles needed for regular turbines....hmmm, seems like the single generator makes some sense on that level?

As to the idea of what about when there is no wind, Shhhhhh(looks around to see if anyone is spying) you build it where there is always wind. LIke maybe on high bluffs on the coast, or on high plains. Plus, you would never depend on just one power source, because when you can tap things like the wind, the sun, the tides and geothermic energy, there is more then enough out there to tap to insure that everyone(every single person) can have power.

The idea of clean power is to have lots of different power sources tapped at the same time so that you are never relying on just one. Like, you never want just this form of wind generator, you want this with solar power, geothermic, tidal, wave, and more. You have massive generators like this one, plus single unit smaller decentralized devices for smaller consumption.

The reason things like this aren`t in use is two fold: First, money and power that belongs to the established power companies do everything they can to maintain the scarcity based power regimes. And second, people who have no business making a decision about these sorts of things( you know like those without the technical know how, or politicians) giving their ignorance based OPINIONS on things confusing the matter.

great design. now watch the oil companies buy the patent and destroying it, never to be heard of again.
