It seems that you have outgrown God. God is a god for the sick and the poor. He gives people strength when there is none to be found anywhere else.

Even though there is a 99.99% chance that God does not exist there is still a 0.01% chance that he does. That is the hope that God provides. That is the hope that you no longer need.

^ The point is just that. It shows that atheism is not a belief system, but a blank slate and actually quite a neutral viewpoint. It`s a counter to all the dumbfucks who say that atheism is a religion or another kind of binding belief system.

Is it weird that when he said "it is far better to grasp the universe as it really is then to persist in delusion no matter how satisfying it is" I thought not.

I get what he is trying to say, but if I had a choice between a cold, hard, miserable reality and a blissful delusion I might just pick that delusion.

Still I think another video showing the poor reasoning involved in religions is always a benefit to the world at large.

Edit: And for BM, I tend to agree. If some people need the idea of god to give them any joy or hope in what would otherwise be a miserable life then I simply wish them the best.

I was also born retarded. I`m not a Christian but more of an agnostic. My mere mortal of a brain cannot comprehend the the the beginning, the middle, nor the end of the entire universe and all of it`s inner workings nor can it even begin to try.

Everything we receive becomes electrical zaps of information which our brain makes into a concept. So we can conceptually think of a God, the universe, or even a lack of a God but that does not make it so. It would only be a concept which is not truth.

The finger pointing to the moon is not the moon (A zen reminder). You can`t define the ultimate truth because then it automatically becomes a concept and not the truth.
