Gee, from the introduction I got the idea this might be unbiased. Obama and other liberals are just as crafty in their language when trying to sell healthcare to us.

It`s what ALL politicians do...they spew linguistic bullshit.

^^^ I do not see FACTS as being biased. Hell I would love all those morons at the town halls screaming about "Ombama death panels" to see this and understand how much of a tool they are.

Instead of spouting key words, you should present evidence and reasoning for your argument.

^^ The "morons" at town hall meeting are everyday citizens like you and I, who care about this country.

Calling someone a moron for having an opposing viewpoint makes you the true moron, and ignorant at best.

If you put yourself in their shoes, you would understand the concern over certain clauses that were added into this NHC bill.

"Calling someone a moron for having an opposing viewpoint makes you the true moron, and ignorant at best."

Perhaps you don`t understand the incident in question because these people screaming about death panels truly are morons. The part of the bill that instigated this was presented by a republican and it essentially makes it so that under the government option, they will provide (pay) for someone to do end of life counseling. I don`t know if you`ve ever had someone in your family in that situation, but that basically means once all other options are exhausted (they`re going to die soon), that someone comes in to get their final wishes, where they will have the funeral service, do they have any special religious requests, do they have a will, etc.

It`s a very legitimate piece of legislature. Sometimes families are so distraught they can`t think straight and having someone like that helps significantly.

Then Sarah Palin comes out as saying that this part of the bill is Obama`s way of making death panels. This is the exact piece she was pointing out, you can find her speech on youtube if you wish. The next day she realized that she grossly misinterpreted the bill and said she was mistaken and tried to recant what she said.

At that point it was too late and the far right media took off with it. There are no death panels, there never were, and there never will be with this particular reform.

So, in closing, those people screaming death panel at town halls are in fact morons.

Proper Healthcare should be focused on diagnosing people with health issues or high risk early in life, then taking preventive steps eg, Regular checkups, exams, bloodwork etc... to catch a preventable problem well before it becomes a much more deadly ( and higher cost issue to fight and recover from )

If you can`t see the fundamental problem with our current ( high profit ) healthcare system then you are not really looking at the issue with open eyes.

Again not to beat a dead horse but preventive healthcare is what America needs. If I don`t feel well I should be able to see a doctor and either be told there is nothing major wrong ( without having to fork over a weeks paycheck ) but more importantly if there is a serious problem it can be taken care of well before I get to the point where massive surgery, treatment, and hospital stays are the only solution left available.

But then again when in Americas history have the filthy rich fuckers ever took a loss for the betterment of all humanity, I guess there is no reason to start now.

Fucking idiots. Sh0wtym3 and EckJerome can suck an AIDs infected dick.

The people protesting Insurance reform are ignorant of what is actually being proposed, and a lot of them are actually plants, paid by insurance corporations and their front companies to disrupt the meetings and try to make it so that the truth cannot be heard over them shouting

"SOCIALISM!"
"COMMUNIST"
"KEEP GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF MY MEDICARE!" (which is rather ironic)

If there actually were death panels being planned, I hope these people would be at the front of the line.

I`ll call BS on that. I`m not making up make-belief arguments. If they believe that there would be "death panels" they ARE morons.

I don`t give two fucking shits if 99% of the country wants the Obama Health care. this isn`t a fucking democracy, its a Constitutional Republic. Not only is it WELL beyond the scope of the government to have any damn thing to do with health care; it IS a FACT that its IMPOSSIBLE to compete with a government provided insurance options. its inherent. It has no true budget. Everything it goes over is payed by tax dollars.

FedEx cant compete with the US Post Office`s $.40 a stamp. But the effective cost to deliver that piece of mail is NOT $.40. The USPS is already $4 Billion in the red and has projected 7-9 BILLION in the red by the end of fiscal `09. So your $.40 stamp is effectively a $2.00 stamp, but its made up by taxing people who might not even use the USPS.

People argue that the people on Medicare love it! It`s a GREAT example of how gvt run health care works. But its broke. it doesn`t matter if everyone loves it. its unsustainable to wildly expensive. I have been paying into Medicare since my first job, but by the time im 65 it will be well into bankruptcy.

screw death panels, screw keeping your doctor, screw all of that bullshit. WE CANT FUCKING AFFORD IT. everything else is irrelevant. Everything the government has a hand in is broke.

DONT skew this into thinking that i believe the current system works. it doesn`t. but reforming the broken system does NOT mean MORE government. we are in this very fucked up position precisely because of too much government.

Regardless of your view on whether this "pig in a polk" health care package (I hear there are acutally four half baked, thrown-together,incomplete packages before congress) is good or bad for the country, you have to admit this is the first really vigorous exercise of our republic we have seen for a long time. Viva USA!

But many Americans disdain our lying, cheating, inept politicians and we are sure they would gladly sell us out for a few silver coins, Dems and Repubs alike. Let them put it in writing, clearly, unequivicaly what they want to sell us and let us decide based on that. No more smoke and mirrors. Write it clearly make it available to all us uneducated, middle American rubes(as most politicians see us the majority) and let us hash it out, it is our right and responsibility--our future. It is waaaay to significant with which to be partisan.

@nosenuggets --You are right, I think, mate, if you are saying "put up or shut up" I will gladly go to the wall on this, and I am VERY proactive, especially after getting rail roaded on the so called stimulus package. You will see me at a town meeting speaking my mind if one comes to my state, how bout you?

How`s it working out you ask?

Well my hope was that he would piss off the small town idiots

check!

That he would do something that big business obviously doesn`t want

Check!

That he would address a serious issue, otherwise known as governing

Check!!

All this bru ha ha actually makes me like the guy more. The status quo wasn`t working and he must have upset it if he`s got all these VIPs shitting their pants. If you`re in office and your country has problems and you`re NOT causing a ruckus, then you are a failure.

Finally, someone gets it.

Gets what you ask?

Finally someone understands what the real problem behind the proposed health care reform. Most of the bullshit behind "socialism" and "Obama is Hitler" are all missing the point.

The greatest issue to overcome in regards to the health care overhaul is the cost.

It`s a system that desperately needs to be overhauled. However, with the downturn of our economy trying to implement it is financially clumsy.

Nose Nuggets, I`m not sure if you`ll read this but I appreciate someone getting down to the REAL point. Props on that.
