I was looking for info on Pirates of the Carribean 4 when i saw a banner for Meat. This is what popped up. Why should you be Vegetarian? Because Vegetarians Are better than YOU!!

Fuck you PETA. You can keep your bullshit. So fucking high and mighty. You CAN`T take human morality and ethics and apply it to animals. It`s stupid. I don`t think we should be cruel to animals, but I don`t think we should ban ourselves from eating them. That`s life. Animals eat other animals. Most of their claims are not facts, and are merely opinion.

"Because meat is filthy and bloody"
-wtf. No it`s not. You might not like blood, but it`s not filthy.

"In every package of chicken there`s a little poop"
-There`s also a little bit of poop in your grain, and shredded insect parts. The FDA has values of how much is permissible. Animals get into grain silos, and that`s a fact.

"Mad Cow disease, is in the US."
-Scare tactics.

Not going to tackle them all, would take way too long. I suspect many of their other claims are flimsy at best.

Should put them in a room with a hungry lion and a gun and see what they do.

If any of you are vegans and keep your opinion to yourself, then I apologize for my rant. You get the distinction of being one of the few that keeps it to yourself and doesn`t get all preachy on other people.

Humans are omnivors, we need to have both meat and vegetables in our diets to live. If you`re thinking of becoming a vegetarian don`t imagine it`s as easy as just eating plants. You have to balance the intake you would`ve gotten from consuming meat with a series of specific meals otherwise you`ll do far more damage to your organism than good.

Yes, a vegetarian diet is far more advantageous in the long run but so are other diets that don`t necessarily mean cutting off meats completely. If you wanna have a healthier body then go right ahead and follow any diet, but don`t become a vegetarian just because it`s "unfair" to other animals. That`s just called being condescending, thinking you`re the better animal that can surpass its natural instincts and feeling pity over those who can`t.

If you look into metabolic diet science, you find out something important: humans have INDIVIDUAL dietary needs.

How were Innuit so healthy eating almost 100% meat?

The fact is, different lines of humans EVOLVED to tolerate their locally available food sources over thousands of years.

Nowadays, we are all mostly mutts, dominated by farming culture. We can tolerate a wide range of foods. But some people are built to metabolize different food sources more efficiently than others. Some people are great with grains, some people keep the beat with meat.

This particular branch of dietary science isn`t getting the larger institutional support it deserves because it is a threat to institutions like jails, hospitals, and the military. It proves that you can`t feed everyone the exact same, and have them all stay healthy. To admit this would be to admit that we need to 1. identify each person`s metabolic requirements, and 2. actually feed each of them the right food individually. Think about doing that in a jail or the army, what a nightmare.

So don`t be suprized if you haven`t heard about this before. The Milk Marketing Board isn`t going to run an add that asks "Is drinking milk really right for you?"

Meanwhile, modern dietary scientists will tell you that some people need meat, some need lots of it, and some people should be vegetarians, or mostly vegitarian (fishetarian?). It`s a whole spectrum. And the only way to know is to understand the issue, and properly assess your own relationship with food. Actual medical testing can help too, but isn`t strictly needed to get the basics figured out.

As for myself, I am a strong carnivore. I need about 50% red meat in my diet, the rest fruits and vegies, and a very low intake of grains. Grass is what cows eat. Until PETA can invent a soy steak that actually gives me some fucking energy, they can shove it.

There is some grade A sanctamonious pig shit here, but animal rights still count. I reserve the right to enjoy.. delicious, juicy, succulent.. animal produce, AND want the animal to have lead a relatively full life and a quick death.

It reflects in the quality of the produce aswell, but it`s not so good for PROFITS.

The phrase you`re looking for is "intensive farming".

Why is it that people seem to get so angry about this video?? Let me get one thing straight here - I`m not a vegetarian but I can still see some fairly valid points the video is making - however some of the above reactions almost seem violently defensive in their response. Kinda like an overreaction when someone is touching a sore nerve.
