Good start. TF is taking his sweet time posting the next part. Just to make a point about what they were in the middle of, the real cop out is the belief in the creator god. Saying scientists don`t know how the universe was created therefore it must have been god is a logical fail. The religious prefer a fairytale to an unknown.

I`m really surprised Ray went for this...he asked for 1 million dollars first, but once he got mocked for it seems to have agreed to the 2 camera polite discussion set up.

So far things aren`t looking good for Mr. Comfort who can`t seem to grasp the very simple argument on "creation" posed by thunderfoot.

Thanks for putting this up so quickly.

^^ Too modest? You mean he`s appropriate, reasonable, open-minded, unbiased, rational, observant, and not a religion-bashing cock fag out to piss everyone off that doesn`t believe in what they do?

People like you and a lot of other "atheists" here on Spiked need to be more like this. You guys are a fucking disgrace to the representation of receptive human logic. You all act like there`s a prize for whoever wins this war.

Make up your own minds, hold your beliefs close, don`t ever let anyone take them off you and don`t ever try to destroy anyone else`s. There`s just no point.

Edit: rofl Part 3 is great... this bit is like the definition of irony.
Ray: I don`t believe any two humans can agree on one thing. Would you agree on that?
TF: ...mmm, yes.

The whole thing was an awesome discussion. Watch it if you`ve got a spare hour and a half. Thanks for this OP. 5/5

Just finished the whole thing and while I enjoyed it, I can see even more now why people like Dawkins won`t debate with the Ray Comforts of the world.

There is nothing to be gained from it. It makes people think Creationists have equal footing, or even just some evidence, when they don`t.
Ray doesn`t even understand half of what TF is getting at, and the times he realizes he is in trouble he reverts to "I know God is real" or "the Bible says...therefore it is true" or trying to break the tension with a terrible joke.

Anyway, kudos to both of them for keeping it civil, even though you could tell Thunderfoot`s brain was in danger of exploding a couple times :)

saltesc, I am not a Atheist either :P but I support evolutions and hate dogmas. Ray Comforts the "banana man" if you see that video you will know why I said them creationist bullshit. A lot of anti-creation people are modest, just not the creationist in youtube who faultsly summiting DMCA, delete comments and freeze rating, uses vote bot to vote down the people who promote science, why do you think some of them are so pissed about them.

Ok this is a long assed comment..apologies, alot to cover here.
saltesc, I remember getting into a long debate with you several months ago on the video about the `African Witch Children`
http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/170106/African-Witch-Children-Pt-1.ht

ml?page=4

In it you were trying hopelessly (and im pretty sure you now agree ridiculously) to claim that Christianity and religion in general had nothing to do with the witch burnings taking place. During the debate you let spill the fact that your mother was a Christian and agressively stated that she `lives with morals and a degree of humanity far superior to any of you.`

Right there you reveal your bias and make it very clear why you get so furious and agressive towards atheists on this site. You are clearly pretty close to your mother and still look up to her a great deal judging from that comment, so the idea of people claiming her belief system is completely irrational, immoral and foolish understandably offends you and leads you to throw around ridiculous insults such as saying that atheists `have their heads so far up their own asses that the only thing that comes out of their mouths and goes into their ears is their own shit.`.

In that video (the african witch children one) you completely irrationaly tried to defend Christianity and made the ridiculous claim that religion had nothing to do with what was going on in the video. I think by the end (although I could be wrong) you were conceding that it did have its part to play in those attrocities..however the fact that you argued so viciously to defend a point which was so obviously full of shit shows the blindness you have towards the dangers of Christianity and reveals alot about why you throw around so many vicious insults towards atheists on this site.

Your respect for religion seems to completely blind you to the mere suggestion that religion (or rather Christianity) may be a bad thing....as soon as that is brought up you go into a raging fury. What is particularly ridiculous about all this is that on other videos you have made pretty damning attacks on scientology and have complained about atheists on this site not attacking the Muslim faith. You only get cross when it is Christianity being criticized and made to look bad...It makes it pretty clear that you are not furious at atheists because insulting religion `takes away hope and belief and leaves those people with nothing`(as you have said before) but because insulting Christianity in particular makes your mother (whom you admire to the point of stating she `lives with morals and a degree of humanity far superior to any of you.` to a bunch of strangers on the internet) appear to have made some very very stupid descisions.

Throughout this site there are many other examples of you doing this..I recall a Sarah Palin video where her creationist beliefs were mocked. As usual this lead to an angry response from you stating who cares if she believes in creationism over evolution and what difference does it make. Again this shows your blindness to the subject if you cannot see why that makes a HUGE difference. It says alot about a person when they are willing to ignore literally every single scientist on a scientific topic just to stubbornly cling to what they want to believe. That kind of person who will ignore all the experts is surely you concede a pretty dangerous person to be selected to run America? A job which specifically relies upon listening to the opinions and facts from experts and making judgements upon them that could literally effect billions of peoples lives should probably not go to that person who has already shown (and appears to be proud of the fact) that she is perfectly happy to completely ignore ALL the experts on a topic she has no understanding of would you not say? Even a 12 year old could tell you that but somehow once again you failed to look past the fact that Christianity was being insulted and instead of thinking about it, got angry and made pretty stupid comments about how it is irrelevant.

You seem to suggest that religion (or rather just Christianity..) should not be insulted and should be free from criticism. Why? Why should religious beliefs be treated any differently to political ones? Why should they be free from questioning? We debate with people about their political stances and certainly you could say that that too `takes away hope and belief and leaves those people with nothing` so does that mean it should never be done? Should we just `hold our beliefs close, don`t ever let anyone take them off us and don`t ever try to destroy anyone else`s` (as you said just now)? What is so wrong about letting people change our beliefs? If someone tells me something which completely changes my original stance on a matter should I ignore them because it is wrong to let people change my opinion? I think that is a pretty stupid way to go about life, if you have made a descision on something there is nothing wrong with changing your mind based on new points presented to you. To suggest to people that this is a bad thing seems pretty insane, you are talking about personal dogma there.

Should bigotts and the KKK never be confronted? After all they have made up their mind on something, and hold that belief very close..I would say that the belief of most Christians is far nastier than that of the KKK. One of the fundamental pillars of Christian faith is that God sends to hell for eternity those that have not accepted Christ as their saviour, seeing as he is supposed to be infinitely moral and just then this must be what they deserve..believing that billions of people deserve to be tortured for all eternity for the `crime` of not believing in the correct God is disgusting and far worse than anything I have ever heard or read from any bigott, not even the KKK`s beliefs are as vicious and brutal as that and that is not even getting into the extremely sexist passages in the bible, the parts condoning slavery, genocide, infanticide and the raping of young children (all of which thankfully are ignored by MOST christians nowadays as the overwhelming majority of them are biblically illiterate).

If people never stood up to religion, refused to try and get them to change their minds on their beliefs, never argued with them and let them do as they please (as you preach people to do) then we would loose a significant quantity of literature which over the years have been attacked by Christian groups, some of the greatest movies and television shows (no monty python, no life of brian) ALL ROCK MUSIC (as the current head of the Catholic church has stated "Rock music is the work of Satan" and according to Catholic dogma he has papal infallibility whereby by action of the Holy Spirit, he is preserved from even the possibility of error so he MUST be right), all contraception, all women would be denied the possibility of abortions, we would be forced to teach fake science in schools, to tell children that their bodies are things to be ashamed of and that perfectly natural human feelings such as lust are wicked evil things etc etc etc etc, and these really are just the minor issues. Letting people do as they please without question or criticism because doing so annoys you personally or because it may upset them is frankly a shit idea. These are not tiny groups, the fundamental evangelicals in America are an enormous and powerful growing section of society, letting them do whatever they want would bring us back into the dark ages.

Another peculiar point you frequently throw around is to proclaim that the atheists who attack religion are not real atheists and that the real atheists hate them...do I even need to point out what is so moronic about that statement? The only thing you need to be an atheist is to not believe in a god/gods...that is it, there is no dogma stating you cannot dislike religion or insult it. You can be an atheist and believe that Richard Dawkins is a dimension crossing blueberry pie disguised as a human in order to steal the worlds coffee beans for use as fuel for his space ship if you want, as long as you dont believe in a god then you are still an atheist. Again this is a very obvious point that any idiot could tell you but your incredible bias towards Christianity let you miss it and continue to throw around these bizarre comments..

As a final point a comment you made a while ago puzzles me `I hate the evolution theory because so many people ignorantly believe it and preach it like a crazy Christian man on the corner of the street. In the short-term, makes a lot of sense. In the long-term, I just don`t see it.man` are you saying there that believing in evolution is ignorant and that you do not? If so I would love to know what evidence you have which leads you to be correct on this and literally every major scientist and expert on the matter in the world to be completely wrong. Do you actually have a reason which could not be countered by a greater understanding of the topic?I am sure they would be thrilled to hear about it too! Hell you will be famous, the story of a random guy on an internet forum having such proof will surely be told for decades! Are there any other theories you hate because people ignorantly believe them? How about the theory that the earth is round? Or the theory of gravity? Both have support as strong as evolution...

And im done. Bloody hell thats a long comment!
How did the recovery from the bike accident go by the way? Did the back to the future trilogy unleash the healing powers I suspected of it?

Good to see Thunderf00t debating someone rather than making 1 sided videos but this other guy (never heard of him before) didn`t seem like much of a debater. If nothing else, this desperately needed a moderator. That was their first mistake.

^^ Do yourself a favour Csmack...look up Ray Comfort, and see why people stereotype Evangelicals so badly.

As to the format, they intentionally did it in chat style rather than proper debate style. I thought it was refreshing.
The outcome with a moderator would have been the same. Ray would have avoided the questions and fallen back to "knowing" the truth again and again.
