Aérotrain

The Aérotrain was a hovercraft train developed in France from 1965 to 1977. The train was suspended on an aircushion enabling very high speeds, low noise and fuel consumption. The project was abandoned due to lack of funding and the death of the lead engineer Jean Bertin. Music: Flash and the pan - 'Waiting for A Train'.

We had bitchin` style back in the 60`s and 70`s. That train and the prototypes looked so cool.

And today people say things like BMWs look good... /sigh

Don`t get me started on it, but I`m SURE I was born in the wrong era.

innovation seemed more widespread back in the day. I`d like to see more technologies we gave up on, but "rediscover"

^ Big oil makes more money when the govt subsidizes the highways instead of the trains.

I think they didn`t go with this design because the "TGV" train is much safer, bigger and cheaper.
