^ I`m not going to tell you the NHS is a utopian ideal, but capitalism is about cutting corners to widen profit margins. Your health is compromised for that margin. Ideally you want a government that works for people first, but anyway you slice it socialised medicine is better than consumerised medicine.

Socialized health care works. It truly does. The problem is, it lets the government get their grubby hands on our health care. So at what cost do we get health care? After 100-150 years, a politician decides on a national medical database (fine and dandy), then "preventative health care" involving health monitoring sensors on people with immediate medical threats. Next thing you know, the government slips in a secret project involving terminating patients considered a "threat to the nation" in the name of security with these sensors. It`s not a conspiracy, it`s just the nature of government. In order to govern most efficiently, you need COMPLETE control. Seriously, people. If Bush was elected just 8 years ago, what makes you think another idiot like him won`t be elected again? Would you really want someone like that in charge of your health care? Someone with access to your records and potentially slip something in your blood stream because you`re a "threat to the nation". Europe is doing fine now, but wait a few more years. Socialized medicine isn`t even 100 years old yet. Wake up, folks.
