FFS ... for a people who gave us the convenience of video games even our girlfriends would play, they sure make same useless shit.

Bento will never be mainstream in any Western country for the simple reason that most Westerners refuse to eat shit that takes longer to cook than a sandwich. FFS ... it`s your goddamn lunch, not a Rembrandt replica.

I clicked through to his YouTube channel and found a ton of his video. I`ve spent the whole afternoon watching all of them. I`d probably never make any of the dishes but his videos are just so hauntingly mesmerizing...

I agree on taking a bit too much to cook, but that`s just because we westerners are not used to cooking our own meals. Cheap crap food is available everywhere so that`s why cooking your own meal might seem too much of an endeavor.

Portions are small so that you`re not a fat ass, fullness will come when you get back to work.

asian meals historically suppose to have long prepartion, because it meant to serve the king or the man of the house (sorry ladies). Because longer preparation = more importance of the people eating it. This meal wasn`t complicated, complicated ones take 3+ hrs to make.
