there will always be crime....doesn`t matter if you took all the weapons away you`d have a high rate of crime on the most useful weapon.

if there was not a sigle gun in the united states then there whould be less crime! but now when there are so many guns loose in the states i just dont know what would you should do.. perhaps it would get better in the long run to have gun control laws but it wouldent do anything if not moust of the states had them

Force every American citizen to carry, as well as pass firearm target shooting.

That will stop crime, right?

I`d prolly say as much as complete elimination of firearms. All I can say is that firearms make it harder to personalize the crime -- you knife someone, you`re going to get some sort of immediate retaliation, even if it`s just the blood. Guns are for cowards who cannot face their own anger, and are going to do it from far away.

Banning guns won`t stop criminals from buying guns just like banning drugs ain`t doing crap to prevent any idiot from buying some at the street corner.

And I am not talking about giving guns to everyone either. I agree with a control which would make sure the person who wants to purchase and/or carry a gun is not a criminal and is competent and mature enough to use it safely.

But banning everything is just as stupid as giving guns to everyone.

Well the best way I see it to fight crime is to fast track the development of cybernetic technology. Imagine if we can station a T-800 on every street corner, crime will be over. Granted a lot of dead people but still little or no crime. :)
