Coinsider with the fact that most feminist are fat, ugly or bad personality, In this case they get pay less for a different reason. Please note I am not saying women are stupid.

I`m not saying he`s wrong, but he glosses over the 75% pay disparity. The point he makes about the authors argument actually doesn`t address the issue.
The complaint of feminists is not that women make 75% of what men make on average, but that in the exact same jobs they are paid less.


For example, even if the 75% stat argument is true, thats just the median. The U.S. Census for 2007 showed certain jobs to be much worse. Financial Advisors, for example, saw a 58% median pay for women when compared to men.

Personally I think some of it is due to the fact that men have been in top positions for longer, and thus their collective raises over the years skew higher than women`s... but that`s just a guess.

Not saying all his points are wrong, but he really skipped over the most important point.

This also glosses over the fact that much about feminism is also about trying to deal with issues that relate particularly to women.

Feminists are supposed to be those that advocate fair and equal treatment for women as well as men. This would also mean that men can be feminists, however, many would shy away from the term. The term itself is problematic, as feminism covers a great deal.

Feminism changes depending on culture, region, pay, etc. For instance, some hispanic feminists will often have different issues than white feminists. One disturbing issue is hispanic women are encouraged to terminate pregnancies, sometimes against their will. Or the plight of many chinese women as well as the casting out of girls.

Let`s also not forget that women bear children and this brings in a host of issues ranging from medical to job issues (being denied jobs, childcare, etc). Many of these issues (such as discrimination) are less common today and illegal because of feminist action.

And before you downvote me or shut me down, remember that we all have mothers. Many of us have sisters, aunts, grandmothers, girlfriends, wives, or even daughters. Women in your lives that you care about or are important to you. But remember, this is also about equality. This doesn`t put them on a pedestal or make them more worthwhile.

Painting a huge, generalized term such as "feminists" with a single stroke such as this is pretty stupid. Sure, he`s entertaining in his rip off animation style of Zero Punctuation (and he sounds a bit..."off"...himself) while he gleams over important issues by simply saying, "no ur rong" and a badly animated scenario delivers his horribly communicated point.

This being the Internet we are prone to think in extremes. For example, when he says "feminist" an Internetee is prone to think of a butch lesbian holding up a sign and shouting how she hates men; this is a minority representation of feminism but it`s not mainstream feminism. Feminism, as it actually stands, essentially is the idea that men and women should be treated equally by both men and women. Does that sound extremist to you?

My sister works at Goldman Sachs (I know... the anti-Christ) and she says the reason why women get paid less in the same positions is because they get PREGNANT! Which leads them to take time off to have their baby`s, and in many cases never return, so that they can take care of their children.

Men on the other hand are able to stay in their positions for a consistent amount of time allowing them to receive more promotions.

I`d have thought someone on behalf of the Institute of Internet Studies would know about Godwin`s law and avoid it. He just killed his own arguement. Such a shame because it was going quite well.

In his words, if I can give out 100 dollars a year to my two children, both are equally qualified for the money, but I choose to give all the money to one of them and none to the other that`s not wrong. However if I instead give 50 dollars to both of them, thus taking 50 dollars away from the one that actually got any money I`d be commiting an act of evil.
