(Australia)-A PERTH man who posed as a taxi driver, luring drunk young men into his car and sexually assaulting them while they were passed out, took advantage of their vulnerability, prosecutors say.
Kok Foo Lim, 42, is on trial in the District Court of Western Australia, where he has pleaded not guilty to 15 counts of sexual penetration without consent, 11 counts of indecent assault and one count of unlawful wounding.
Prosecutors allege Mr Lim picked up a number of young men between March 2003 and August 2007, sexually assaulted them and filmed the assaults.
Prosecutor Janelle Scutt said the alleged assaults involved Mr Lim driving to popular nightspots and offering "intoxicated and vulnerable young men" a lift home.
Ms Scutt detailed the alleged assaults which occurred in several locations including Mr Lim's duplex home.
She said Mr Lim would wait until the men passed out then film them naked, fondle and perform sex acts on them.
The court heard most of the men would wake up outside their homes, dazed and with no recollection of giving Mr Lim their address or being assaulted.
Police allegedly uncovered videotapes and a book with the names of the alleged victims, including their personal details while searching his property during an indecent assault investigation.
Ms Scutt said Mr Lim would likely raise issues of self defence and claim the sexual acts were consensual or he had the honest belief they were consensual.
"However these men were not capable of consenting and frequently lapsed in and out of consciousness where he simply did whatever he wanted," she said.
Mr Lim's lawyer David McKenzie will outline the defense case later this afternoon.
