There`s a description of this video from the website where I found it about 6 or 7 years ago by the creator who said he was just doing the most literal translation of the lyrics as he could and obviously there might be some figurative or metaphorical meaning that eluded him.

Just thought I`d share that with you guys....

^ Never overestimate Paul McCartney`s lyrical depth. This really is just a story about a... a guy who... has a silver hammer. Sorry but to this day this song makes no sense to me.

I was watching something on the Beatles from 1994 a little while ago where McCartney said "Maxwell`s Silver Hammer is my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does, as I was beginning to find out at that time in my life"
