The complainers are just the sore losers of the policy argument. The police especially just can`t get over the idea of -gasp- NOT PUNISHING PEOPLE.

Well how about people are going to sink or swim on their own. We can be kind, try to help them, and it DOES OFTEN HELP. But some will not take the help, AND JAIL ISN`T HELP EITHER.

Thanks Portugal, we need your brave example to help us learn to do the right thing.

Good for Portugal. The only thing that I disagree with is when the reporter said that the former criminals are being treated as victims now. This is the wrong attitude because they are not victims. They choose to take drugs and the situations that they are in because of their drug use are their own fault.

Since the drugs in Portugal are not illegal anymore, the value of doing drugs has decreased. It is now a matter of time that pot in Portugal will cost at most 25 cents the g and that the black market will completely lose interest in selling them in Portugal...

yup, thats how we roll here.

Its not this simple, for example the way its decided if you are a user or a dealer its on the amount you hold. So a few grams of diference can dictate if you do jail time or get a slap in the wrist. Also, mainly with pot, because they are the few that dare, if the police see you using on the open, out on the street, you better put it out quickly and move along because trouble is coming your way.

who`s paying for all the workers and equipment being used to help people who `can`t stop` injecting themselves with drugs? it`s ridiculous, they make the choice to inject themselves with drugs rather than suffer from withdrawal, it`s not forced upon them. they wanna choose to get fucked up and die, i say quit stopping them!
