The graphics bit that they talked about is ray-tracing. It`s not very new, but isn`t used in games because of how much processing is required. Game designers instead use shortcuts to approximately simulate light, texture, etc. A version of Quake 3 and 4 was created that uses ray-tracing instead of the normal engine.

All in all, sounds great for physics simulations but currently too much for the gaming. Give it some time though, and someday we`ll be playing (nearly) photo-realistic games. It may be upon us very soon though. From what I`ve heard elsewhere, some of this can be done real-time. Of course, what Intel or Nvidia does in their labs means little to me until it actually hits the shelf.
