US Army Corps Obscures New Orleans Truth

Posing as citizens, people at the US Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans tried to misinform using the regions leading news source, the Times Picayune. For over three years they have been shifting responsibility from the Corps levee failures onto the citizens of metro New Orleans.

^ are you retarded? This is just some douchbag needing a scapegoat. The scapegoat is (this is going to be a shocker) the weather and soil erosion. This is a news group trying to make a shock you video and gain ratings. Of course people that helped build the levees are pissed about this. They try to help and they get shit on. I guess if we adopt a lesson from this it is that you shouldnt try to help anyone. They love you one moment and then bend you over wen tragedy strikes.

You know that as a fact or is it just a reflex?

The Corps admitted "some" of the levees had faulty designs, this was detected in the 90`s. Still they didn`t address the problem because they prefered to divert levee money into other local projects.

The US goverment is well known for allocating money into stuff they don`t need. If you look deep into it, it`s all private profit.

So let me get this straight. If you are being criticized on some blog, you should not be allowed to refute the claims against you?

In my view. The real tragedy of hurricane Katrina was not that the levees failed during a massive storm, but the lack of government response that followed.

IMO, this is what happens when you have a poorly designed city / state full of corrupt leaders, mother nature and a worthless president / administration.

OK, does it really matter whose fault the storm was?
Rebuild it and the water will come and claim it again... I can feel for the people there who have been there for generations.... BUT sometimes you just have to admit that we can`t win vs the earth... the earth ALWAYS wins!

Side note, but I actually recall seeing a special on Discovery Channel I believe, about the levees in New Orleans before Katrina. In the special, they noted that the levees were inadequate protection against a high category hurricane.

The point being, it was known that the levees were insufficient. Who exactly is to blame? I`m not entirely sure. If I remember correctly, it was the Army Corps of Engineers that filed the report detailing its inadequacies.
