The caller is an idiot, unintelligent at that in his inability to distinguish that he can`t claim his beliefs as truths other than to himself.

At any rate, Carolla is an idiot himself. Why continue posting this guy, he isn`t funny and doesn`t even land remotely in the realm of having an intellectual conversation.

You find this guy actually comical? Sure, pull the relative card, and pretend that humor (to some degree) is in the *mind* of the beholder. While your at it deny the statistical facts of the correlation between maturity and intelligence to the average listeners of this scat.

The problem isn`t these guys views` (both caller and host) it`s the fact that anybody actually listens to these people and give them any sense of credibility let alone time of day.

Also this show doesn`t pretend to have "intellectual conversations". It`s entertaining because it`s basically just a guy(s) with some intelligence that rips on idiots without any census. It`s sort of cathartic if you think about it, guy just calls all his caller idiots because they are idiots and doesn`t even give them the benefit of a doubt. I`m sure we all have the urge to tear a new one on most people we talk to for being absolute idiots, and this is what Corolla does... except in front of millions of listeners.

I`m not one to defend Adam, especially when he is just yelling aimlessly.
However, I don`t think Euthphyro gives him enough credit here. Ridicule is one of the best tools for showing the stupidity of an idea. He could have pointed out, point by point, the flaws in the Bible, the fact that not all Christians even believe in hell, etc. But this caller was obviously a plug-your-ears-I`m-not-listening kinda christian, so using logic would have been pointless...especially on an enetertaimnet radio show.

Instead you just let the caller damage his own credibility...Hell is dark, but you can`t see the fire because its so bright its blinding...and cavemen are there.

Did the host say the earth was 10 billion years old? He`s waaay off to say the least. Also, I don`t think it was determined by carbon dating since carbon`s half life isn`t long enough. I could be wrong but I think carbon dating is only used for organic materials too.

Wasn`t so much a rant as much as a failed attempt to be funny.

^ I can see your point. BTW you know that triangles debate we had a while back. Well I thought of an example of a triangle in nature: a shadow. You can have a cutout of a triangle. Say you make one out of wood, metal, etc and you shine a light over it and cast its shadow on a surface. The shadow will be a perfect 2D triangle. No volume right? And shadows are 100% natural. I was reminded about it back when I was in multivariable calc class and we were talking about shadow regions of 3D objects.

Off topic I know but I`ve been wanting to bring it up.

2000 year old bible. It says the earth is like 6000 years old.

thier is 13000bc around that time of recorded history

the earth is like 6 billion years old based of geo, rate of evolution, fossels ect. Not 10 but sure that is fine his piont was still there.

science uses more then carbon dating. since carbon dating as stated before does have a half life

so in fairness carbon dating works to like 33,000 years or so.

that is why we use geo becuase the rate is consistant.

Give the kid some credit, he rang these guy`s and yeah even though it was obvious that he didn`t have all the info he had the BALLS to face him, you`ve got to give him his Chops for that don`t you.

Also unlike MANY people today, he stood up for something instead of being a coward and going with the
majority.

Yeah he was way off base on the topic of Hell,but there was no need to belittle him or his personal beliefs!

I find that today we are so useless within our selves that the only way we can obtain humour is at someone elses expense....Gone are the days of SMART humour.
