You gotta understand that the consequence of living in a predominantly capitalist world is the ability to sell something that has no value. Celebrities are nothing more that a resource to be milked, like oil, gas, etc but with one catch: celebrities are created out of nothing. They`re like a currency, it`s just a convention. It doesn`t have any value, it doesn`t even exist in the real material world. We fail to put value in the objects themselves and chose for some reason to put value in the money we buy them with. This is why idiots get shocked when Christian Bale flips, or when Tom Cruise goes literally nuts. We fail to put value on the product, the movie in itself in this case, and chose to quantify the currency. Stop it.
