Update-

The person who approved The Chaser`s controversial `Make a Realistic Wish Foundation` comedy sketch has been removed from her role.

ABC Managing Director Mark Scott today announced Amanda Duthie has been stood down as the Head of ABC TV Comedy, after Media Watch revealed her to be the one initially responsible for putting the segment to air.

ABC editorial policy states: `If content is controversial or likely to have an extraordinary impact, the most appropriate senior manager should be notified in advance.`

Ms Duthie watched the material and chose not escalate the matter or inform higher management of its nature.

`The segment should not have been broadcast,` said ABC boss Mark Scott.

`We recognise that it caused unnecessary and unreasonable hurt and offence to our viewers and the broader community and we have apologised for this.`

Mr Scott said the airing of the sketch did not represent a breakdown of ABC editorial policy processes but instead was `an error of judgement.`

ABC TV`s Executive Head of Content Creation, Courtney Gibson, will assume direct responsibility for comedy programs until a new Head of Comedy is appointed.

Ms Duthie will continue to be responsible for Arts and Entertainment programs.

Yea, For the last half a week there has been so many people demanding that it be pulled forever. Don`t get me wrong, it was a dick move on their behalf to pull that skit but nobody deserves to lose their right to free speech under any circumstance. Then again we don`t have a bill of rights here so free speech is pretty much non existent.. If you so much fart in the wrong direction it is unbelievably easy to get sued, so I don`t want to hear any of our American friends complaining about how bad they got it for a while.

Some of these dweebs have no concept what entails free speech. Yeah, you have the right to say whatever you want...but you do not have the right to demand a soapbox to stand on (such as a television station) or the right to absolve yourself of any consequences resulting from your actions.

And if any of you twerps think you can come onto MY property to exercize your First Amendment rights, then I`ll have a little something to teach you about the Fourth Amendment!!

its only words...... you really care that much about what people say... its not hurting anyone unless they`re wweak minded, and yes if my sister or mother dies make fun of them all you want, i know its just noise and the sooner people realize that the better, free speech is a right and you should be able to say whatever you want.. if you guys really are hurt so much by words, this world may not be for you.
