I think the main problems with the path chosen by those attempting to legalize marijuana, is doing so through means of medicine.

Let`s not bullshit each other here. There no doubt may be some benefits for certain patients, but we`re trying to use a false pretense to achieve our ultimate goal of decriminalization.

Do you really want marijuana legalized if you have to go through a health care provider to obtain it? You think you`re dealer is ripping you off now...holy balls...

Marijuana should simply be decriminalized, which in the most part has been the case. I personally have been caught with small amounts of marijuana on my person. I have never been thrown in prison.

Legalization needs to take it`s steps. We cannot just snap our fingers and say, "GAME ON!"

We must first decriminalize POSSESSION of the drug. We can still crack down on those selling the product because of the harsh effects the flushing of money from our economy can cause.

Individuals would be able to legally grow their own marijuana for personal use. To start, our Government should legalize the sale of SEEDS. This would bring in revenue and in no way hurt the economy from the illegal drug market.

From then on out, we can start implementing entrepreneurial companies that wish to start growing and selling the product, like we have with cigarettes. They would be legal companies that would be taxed, unlike YOUR dealer...which I`m sure doesn`t fill out a W-2 for his/her profits.

I guess my main point to this incoherent babble, is we should not try to use the medical excuse to fight this cause. It`s a bullshit argument and people see straight through it.

We don`t want to legalize marijuana so cancer patients can feel better. We wanna get stoned and type on the internet.

5/5 because it made me type.

^ Any forward progress made in ending the war on Cannabis is progress my friend. I am a full believer and preacher of ALL of the benefits of this beautiful plant. You are completely understating the mass help that Cannabis gives to many people, not just "some benefits for certain patients". The goal is not decriminalization but for Governments world wide to leave this beautiful plant alone. Everyone should be able to grow it, sell it (hemp and its many, many, products), smoke it, chew it, cook with it, make oil with it, give it as a gift, whatever the fuck they want so long as kids are not involved and we as a people, be us lovers of Cannabis or not, are not infringing on other peoples peace and life. Medical Marijuana laws have passed in many states, DEA still fucking people over. A few states have decriminalized it, DEA still fucking people over. Legalize ALL drugs, adopt a system mirroring Amsterdam`s and stop the bullshit. That my friend, is the goal.

Drugs are only illegal when the lower classes use them. Marihuana for mexican, opium for chinese. Crack cocaine for ghetto kids. All drugs should be legal and CAN be used currently (cocaine by most recent presidents for example). The issue is not cannabis. This isn`t an addictive or lethal drug. Unless you consider being shot by DEA a fair mortility risk or watching television habit-forming. The question is: Are you free to do with your body and mind as you please?
The answer: Only if you`ve got the money to stay out of jail.
