I think WW1 was the worst war of all wars, for soldiers that is. The average life expectancy was 2 weeks on the front. If you haven`t read All Quiet on the Western Front then I truly advise that you read it. To be honest its the only way to understand the "lost generation". Even though it was dwarfed by wwII, for the soldiers it was the worst war imaginable.
