I get it. Irony, right? "Don`t buy into the authorities, but you MUST buy our toys!"

It`s hard for us to admit as children of the eighties that just about EVERY cartoon character in the eighties was designed by toy company executives to get specific child demographics to buy their products. Transformers, Thundercats, He-man, She-ra, My little pony, the shows were essentially just extended commercials for the toys. Only in the nineties did creator-driven cartoons gradually become the norm again.

I swear guys, there was a dark shadow hanging over all of us in the eighties. None escaped its hollowing influence.
