NY Cop Acquitted After Body Slamming Wom...

A New York policeman who was caught on video apparently body slamming a woman to a tile floor has been acquitted of civil rights violations. Jurors in federal court in White Plains found 39-year-old Yonkers Police Officer Wayne Simoes (SIM-oze) not guilty Wednesday afternoon. The video, from a restaurant surveillance camera, seemed to show the officer lifting 44-year-old Irma Marquez by her waist and throwing her face-first to the floor. She was knocked unconscious and her jaw was broken.

neither of you know the woman. That`s the problem with these videos, we`re not there and we`re not sitting in court listening to all the evidence. that`s what jury and lawyers are for. cops aren`t judged by people voting on spiked.

I`m friggin tired of these videos and will vote them down everytime, everyone loves to come on and judge cops after watching a 30 second clip.

The Jury saw this video plus they had ALL the evidence from both sides.
We have seen just the video, so of course we are better place to make a reasoned judgement in this case.
Get rid of these unfair trials where the jury is shown the evidence and replace those biased trials with "Trial by Internet"

she resisted arrest and unfortunately cops are allowed to use force in that situation. I feel bad for her but she put herself in that spot. She had 4 cops around her what the hell did she think she was going to do fight them off. I mean i hate an a-hole cop just as much if not more then the next man but this stupid broad put herself in that place.

Comply with their fucking orders ffs. They are officers of the law. Do what they fucking say. Doesnt matter if its a miss understanding, just listen to them and wait to you get to the station etc. If you resist they will get pissed. You dont want them pissed cause they have numbers and well.. guns.

I don`t know what else you would call that, other than excessive force. The officer clearly picked her up off her feet; with what intension, certainly not just to give her a hug. There 2 other officers I could identify, they could of clearly over power her and just restrained her to the chair.

I wonder under what grounds the jury decided to let him walk.
Keep in mind, the amount of cops like this has been a constant, its the fact that there are more cameras everywhere that there is an influx of videos like these.

Its funny how people use the excuse that they see more police brutality recently to justify resisting arrest. If anything it should make people realize that it is NOT in your best interest to do anything other than COMPLY WITH EXACTLY WHAT THE OFFICER ORDERS. Save your fighting for the judge who, btw, will not bodyslam your drunk ass.
