hip-hop used to be glorious, talking about the social oppression people face on the streets and trying to promote love around the world and great stuff like that

now it`s just shit about partying in clubs with chicks and drinking and counting money that was earned from rapping about partying with chicks in clubs and counting money

at times like these i turn to underground artists who still know what music is really for.

There`s a massive gap between Daft Punk fans and Nelly/Justin fans. It`s about 8 years wide and one of them isn`t in junior highschool.

Check out DJ Shadow, somewhat popular stuff. He`s got a fairly broad range of material that introduces you to alot of genres but is mixed so well that it doesn`t sound mixed. And it`s just good break-beat/hang out music, everyone I`ve introduced him to has found it to be quality stuff. At least check out the album "Entroducing", you`ll probably recognize some stuff.
