Its nice to gongregate with like minded people but the internet is full of atheist forums for this kind of things.
This is supposed to be a humor site but now every other video is some atheist trying to push his ideas

i think because most of them don`t really care what the bible says, they just want to believe something because it gives them comfort and don`t want it taken away

I didnt even watch this one, only wanted to comment on the fact that this is a humor site and lately there`s been alot of these... well, not so funny clips. Does not even have to be funny but entartaing or educational, but these videos dont meet any of the criteria. I`ve watched a few of these and there just plain boring, and keep on repeating the same stuff. Yes, I get it already, you dont believe in god.

I do find it funny, its funny how people try to defend something that say slavery is ok, such blind believe without reason is laughable. I read the first few pages of the bible before and my reaction was, WTF? and I can`t continue.

The only problem I have with this video is that the bible isn`t a self updating book. First off, the book itself was written by man. Man at that time found it socially acceptable to keep and own slaves. It is not surprising that a book written THEN ,about social-constructs that existed THEN, may not mesh with what is socially acceptable today. It`s just a poor argument, of which I have heard much better. 1/5

oh wow... I never knew this until now... I knew the bible was vague, controversial (insert your own adjective) and all but had no idea it justified slavery. All I can say is that it took some amazing will power and the movement towards anti-slavery was MUCH stronger than I thought before in a world that was once controlled by religious powers

Christians use the bible as the law. Modern Christians use the bible written roughly 2000 years ago and the OT beyond that. Since their god`s words are everlasting and infinite, therefore, the OT and NT is also everlasting and infinite. Since the OT and NT are laws that are everlasting and infinite, it makes the Christian argument that the OT/NT was made during a time that slavery was socially acceptable very weak.

Don`t forget, as a Christian, god`s words is everlasting and infinite. The bible is quite clear on how it is anti-progressive and an awesome means to control its believers. It`s amazing how such a simple logic can escape anyone.

Justsomeguy you seem to be missing the point here, if the bible really was what christians claim it to be should it not be the most perfect and moral book ever? The word of an omnipotent perfect god should not need updating, you should not be able to find stronger moral guidence in the average mister men book....

If god knew that your acceptance of the things in the bible to be true or not would lead to eternal paradise or eternal torture dont you think he would make sure it was not so full of complete and utter trash?
