Very informative.

I`ve only met a couple Zoroastrians in my life, but they are amongst the nicest people on Earth :)

What are the moral standards of this religion? What does it say about science, abortions, capital punishment, premptive war, etc. Like all ancient teachings, its was created by primative people with primative ideas about life and the universe. We now have a better understanding of our universe, even though we don`t know everything, it doesn`t make any sense to validate ancient religions as if they hold any absolute truths. Eventually religions will be revealed for the lies that they really are.

I remember some things about Zoroastrianism for instance; 1) Zoroast can never lie. 2)unjust judge punisment is death. 3)one cannot own slaves 5) man and women are equal 5)every human has the right of their religion, nobody can force another to convert. 6) zoroast are fond of science be it articulture or medicine.
Edit: one more intersting thing in Zoroastrianism there is also mention of a savior a Saoshyant that will be born of a virgin, but of the lineage of the Prophet Zoroaster who will raise the dead and judge everyone in a final judgment.

Certainly sounds much less dominating then other religions. I guess that would explain why it`s been usurped by the others...

The roman soldiers worshiped a zoroastrian immortal (one of the pre-zoroastrian gods) Mithra. Well it was more a religious order like the freemasons where you had to be initiated by an existing member before you were given a rank.

Zoroastrianism might not be the oldest monotheistic religion but it has the oldest known monotheistic written history

^Funny thing about Mithra, when he was born three-wise men were there to witness it. Sound familiar?

I`ve read about Zoroastrianism. Very interesting. Lots of good points but (as a Buddhist) there are some things I disagree with. But I honour and respect these differences.. they make good talking points for debate.

If as this existance truly is a battle between the forces of Good and Evil, I align myself with the forces of Good.
