The Patriot Act would never be used against US citizens, right?

Certainly not innocent people, right?

After all, holding an American citizen in jail indefinitely without charges, without evidence, based on a "set up" is impossible, right?

Wake up.

Obama has done nothing to remove this anti-Constitutional "law" from the books and it`s being used against innocent people right now.

Well its really too bad this is just bad reporting. It actually has nothing to do at all with the Patriot Act. I mean don`t get me wrong its terrible, but in this instance the Patriot Act wasn`t actually used, read up this case.

its not Obamas fault, or Bush`s fault. its our fault. 100% our fault. we have a constitution that clearly outlines a few specific things the federal government does; secure our borders, create money and manage that monetary policy, ensure that international trade moves smoothly, and that about it. hell, in the constitution its Congress that occupies Article 1, and the president that occupies Article 2.

the idea this country was founded on is that ALL of the power resides with the people. ALL OF IT. any power exercised by the federal government is power lent. outside of this very thin scope of power lent to the federal government, all remaining power is commanded by the states and the people. the Unites States has a sort of reverse pyramid to its power distribution. the most power is with the most people, power is lent to smaller groups. by the wording of the tenth amendment the FBI, CIA, DHS, NSA, and all the other groups have no jurisdiction in your state. each state is a SOVEREIGN nation unto itself. all the states are merely united in a union, nothing else. the only laws that supercede the states are those few specifically described in the constitution. people have this incredibly distorted view that the federal government is a higher authority then your state government, this is blatantly false.

the problem is not bush, or obama or anyone up there. its us. it always has been. instead of how it was in times long past, people feel as though they deserve certain things yet dont feel they should work for it. most people love the idea of the freedoms we are suposed to have in this great nation, but not enough to read about it, educate themselves, or do all that is necessary to defended them from actual threats.
