Hebrew name, meaning master, lord, owner or just god.
Actually, it`s just a title for the highest god of the local pantheon (originated in Syria), in most cases a mountain, weather and fertility god.
In the bible it`s often used to name a variety of local gods.
Ironically, at least according to Wikipedia (the other stuff I got somewhere else) even Yahwe ist often addressed as "Baal"...
Later on, Christianity denounced him (and of course, tons of other ancient gods) to be demons.

edit: Just noticed that you just could`ve used sarcasm there... sorry if I overlooked that.

Wow it makes me wonder. Of all the cities, people, civilizations even, that "God" had ordered killed; imagine if these cities had grown prosperous over all these years. Could you imagine the kind of world we`d have today if 65 cities thousands of years ago hadn`t been destroyed under Gods` name and lived to today. Technological advances, too.

^ Though Christianity wasn`t even around when these happened, the point is that even if these deaths are real they were still done in the name of the Judaism God. But they`re modern Atheists and believe so strongly against Christians that they forget Atheism is about not believing in God, and not just the Christian one either... that`s it.

Christians and Atheists need to give it a rest. It`s a debate both Atheism and Christianity lose and piss everyone off on the way. Yes the evidence of Gods is so ridiculously unbelievable, but there is no evidence to say that there is no God entirely, not even an uncaring one that neglects this corner of the universe. We put a man on our moon and we think we know everything there is to? May as well flip a coin. If an Atheist tells me there is no God, I`ll reply with, "You`re made of the same shit as me and know what I know... so how the fuck would you know?", if a God-based religion tells me otherwise, I`ll respond with, "I`ve read your stuff... it`s old, it`s silly, it lacks modern experiences." So despite the lack of strong evidence in both, you still get guys like this taking Atheism to the extreme (that it isn`t even Atheism anymore) just like crazy Christian people that think killing homosexuals will save the world.

An Atheist does not point out the inhumanities of a religion, that`s just being anti-religion, an Atheist just believes there is no God. So even the title of this video is completely off-topic. This is also why Agnostics, Buddhists, and true Atheists fucking hate you kids as much as we hate the "God Hates Fags" guys... same thing, different side.
