Excellent doco... too bad I already knew who won but still very entertaining to watch. I reckon Lockheed deserved the win. Clearly they are the best at what they do... everything went very well... hardly any problem with their xplane at all. Boeing`s xplane is not a very good looking plane but hey, if it`s cheap, light, and does the job who cares right? Boeing impressed me still... they should go ahead and make the plane and sell them cheap to other countries :)

The JSF is almost nearing the cost of the F-22. Australia is already asking about acquiring the F-22 and questioning if JSF is even a viable project. The aircraft is badly overweight sans weapons, so overall not looking to good.

^^ Well yeah, even the F-35 was designed 13 years ago. But as tman said, there is low demand for them and in this era (over a decade later) that it is meant to sell, still no one is interested.

I agree they should have gone with the Boeing design. They could have just shat those things out because of the way they were built and their production costs. Even the Boeing guys knew it, they completely thought they had it and the Lockheed Martin guys were like, "Well in the end we tried our best."
