^ i have no idea man... Dragonball is doing the same thing with DBZ kai. it`s kinda weird, since the anime in kai is pretty much the same as the old one...

Well the first episode was about an ice alchemist trying to destroy central city and I do not remember that from the first one next 2 episodes though were just recaps.
Hopefully its just to cover some of the basics for the new people that are just starting to watch it and the storyline will delve deeper into the stuff that was not in the first one
