Besides lets look at this technology optimisticly here in 40-50 years they could have built a robot capable of supporting a human brain and all it`s neurological impulses. If that`s the case then we would be one step closer to immortality. :D

This is pretty old news. I was doing some more digging on this when it came out. One possible application of this kind of technology, as they are expecting, is in aircrafts. According to them (the inventors), in near future this technology can be used for safely landing a plane in case the pilot is unable to do it.

I saw something like this on Weird Connections. They wired a computer to a rats brain cells somehow and put it into a basic flight simulator. It crashed a whole bunch of times, but gradually learned how to avoid crashing, and later to fly effortlessly.

Robots that learn on their own. Freaky shit.
