Hes not quite right on Horus though. Isis did indeed bone Osiris, he just happened to be dead at the time. SO not exactly a virgin birth... but pretty fucked up.

(At lordmaster) No way! Another religious dude who has been defending religion on other videos trying to make attacks on religion seem baseless.

Cause y`know people must be against it to look cool..nothing to do with the hideous things religious beliefs are causing people to do even to this day. They cannot possibly be against the attempts to push `intelligent design` into schools, or the huge Christian lobby groups trying to stop gay people from being able to marry, or the Christian campaigns to ban stem cell research, or the Christian campaigns to ban abortion, or the pope`s recent claims that Africans should not be given condoms despite the huge aids crisis (not to mention the Christian `educators` who have gone to africa in their thousands and preached of the evils of condom usage, fuck knows how many deaths that has lead to),or the children in Africa being slaughtered in many cases by their own Christian parents because of their interpretation of the bible, or the recent UN proposal to make criticisim of religion a human rights violation etc etc etc I could go on for days.

Nor can it be that people just plain do not believe the stupidity that most religions try and get you to.(Not going to write a full paragraph on this, the bible does this perfectly for me)

No,to you these people are just rebelling for the sake of rebelling, and that my Masterfull Lord, is fucking stupid. With that comment you seem to be implying that deep down we really do all believe in the fairytales within the bible, and we love all the things it is causing people to do, we just love being cool more than that so we ignore these things and attack religion anyway. Also I may as well point out that in America Christianity is still very much in the majority, by being against it people are hardly doing what everybody else is doing.

Your comment is a stupid as if I were to say Christians are just pretending to be Christians to make themselves look cool, they do not actually believe it they just pretend to because that is what everyone else is doing. This is obviously nonsense, I think their beliefs are stupid and dangerous, but I have no doubt that they are genuine.

Well another religious post so everyone sharpen your swords!
I would just like to remind people that not all Christians are out to gay bash, take away evolution and hate stem cell research. There is a difference between having a moral position and using that position to spread hate to other people. (not sure where in the bible Jesus went and tried to tell people how much he hated them.)
We are not all ignorant and some of us like to think on our own and don’t do what our pope or pastor tells us to. I guess I would like to point out that it’s not Christianity that is broken…its just that we are not very good at it.
As to the movie, I don’t think that he made his point all that well. At some point as a Christian you have to concede that Jesus was God or really there is no point to the whole thing. Just because CS Lewis points out that a man saying the same things that Jesus said would be a fool does not take away the fact that Jesus might be God. If you concede that he is God then one would assume he is right because…well its God. The fun logical arguments that both sides put forward don’t really convince anyone. Science and logic are not suited to prove or disprove God. He is God! He is or he isn’t.
PS Evolution VS Science…who thought of this? The bible is true! But that does not mean it is always literal. The Eastern traditions tend to be more allegorical. We need to learn how to separate fact and truth. Faith and science complement each other well if we just put a little more effort into being a little less dumb.
I hope I make sense

ive never been able to figure out why people think a virgin birth is such a miracle.

bare with me on this one. theres always the odd sicky out there that will do the extreme that other people cant imagine.

so, some sick father, or brother, or aquantence of said virgin puts a lil semen in her while she sleeps. one of those baby medicine feeder things would work well. bam, virgin with a baby. HOLY MIRACLE.

^^ oh im sorry, is this more crazy than the virgin mary giving birth to the son of god? pardon me and my crazy brain.

*edit* lying doesnt explain a virgin birth. i dont dismiss it entirely as a possibility, but I have to determine whether or not a virgin birth is even possible. Ive thought about it, and it is. Easily possible, and hardly a miracle. Id be sad if my brain stopped working at "oh they must be lying." how simple.

thats not what i was saying, i was saying lying doesnt make it true. if you have a girl with a fully intact hymen, and is pregnant, you cant call her a liar about being a virgin, but hey, sure, go off on a tangent.

why did we even have this conversation if you`re just going to delete half of it?

Just so everyone knows ^^Neon^^ he tried to say that virginity can be validated through the existance of the hymen in a woman, which is completely untrue. They can be worn away through rigorous physical activity. There is NO valid way to check if someone is a virgin.

I argued that the virgin mary LIED about her immaculate conception and he said that doesn`t PROVE it. There is no way to prove it you retard. Don`t be so damn offended, I only said that I would have assumed she lied about the matter before I assumed her family pumped her full of cum while she was asleep.

Ok Blacksun this is in response to your comment, sorry this is a suuuper long one but I think it is worth saying. Soo here goes!

There is indeed a difference between having a moral position and using that to spread hate to other people, however you are encouraged in Christianity to `help` those living in sin to stop them going to hell. Those people who are against gay marriage do not think of themselves as `gay bashers` or of spreading hate, they think they are saving these people from an eternity of torture. They use aggressive words to put forth their points but in their minds it is justified as they are saving souls in the longrun. If you are a Christian then it would be distinctly immoral of you and offensive to your god to not try and save as many people as possible from eternal suffering, why would you not do so?because you are worried of offending them? Surely it is better to offend them than to let them fall into hell? Is that not what you would want them to do for you, `love thy neighbour as thyself`, you would not willingly let those you love go to hell would you?

Not telling them that what they are doing is sinfull and allowing them to marry (which will in turn make being gay seem socially acceptable possibly leading to more souls condemned to hell) implies a lack of faith. The lobby groups who viciously oppose gay marriage so much presumably think they are doing it out of love for their fellow man (lolz), they truly believe that homosexuality is a sin according to the bible, thus it would be immoral of them to not campaign as they do. You could hardly suggest that they have twisted words totally out of proportion to get their homaphobic viewpoint either, it could possibly be interpreted differently hence some Christians have no problem with gay people but does that not then bring up another issue, if God is completely infalliable (as Christianity states) and the bible is what it claims to be then it should be a perfect book, it should not have sections who`s interpretation could lead to countless murders `thou shalt not suffer a witch to live`, racism (the curse of ham), or the abuse of an entire section of society who have no choice over their feelings (gay community) amoung many other ridiculous passages. If it really was what it claims it would be a very different book)

This also brings me to your point `not sure where in the bible Jesus went and tried to tell people how much he hated them` as I stated the `gay bashers` would not claim to hate gay people, they are merely trying to save them and will use strong words to do so, and Jesus certainly did that, read the bible, here is a lovely passage from it where Jesus talks of adulterers and their children

`And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.`

That is far more vicious than the usual stuff you hear even from the gay bashers...even they would not suggest the murder of children for no other reason than being unluckily related to the `sinner`.

Your next point I think further shows the point I am trying to make, you say `not all ignorant and some of us like to think on our own and don’t do what our pope or pastor tells us to.` well if you are a Roman Catholic that is a very blasphemous thing to say, they believe in Papal infallibility, the Pope can never be wrong. Thus if you are a Catholic you HAVE to believe that abortion is wrong, that stem cell research is wrong, that contraception is wrong, that rock music is the work of satan (yeah..he said that, i shit you not) etc etc etc.

You say some of you like to think on your own but that is NOT what Christianity is about, it is an admirable thing to do but Christianity does not support that. You are born sinfull and need the bible and God to guide you, you cannot `think on your own`, you must use the bible, if you disagree with a passage in it you cannot think for yourself and decide to not follow that, or rather you can but it would not make you a Christian. It sounds to me like you have just made up your own religion and not actually read the bible, nothing wrong with that, just do not call it Christianity.

This leads me to your final point ` The bible is true! But that does not mean it is always literal`. Who are you to decide what is to be taken literally and what is not? Before evolution became an accepted fact people honestly believed every word of genesis was true, but as science progressed it made these claims seem obviously bullshit. There was no flood, dinasours came before humans, each animal was not created exactly as they are today all at once, and my personally favourite, THE EARTH IS MORE THAN 6000 YEARS OLD. Thus now alot of Christians (although not all...young earth creationalists literally believe in all that shit..witness their stunning stupidity in using the grand canyon as proof of Noahs flood) now say that those parts are clearly not to be taken literally..do you not see a huge problem with that? You can twist the words of the bible, (or any large book really) to support whatever belief you want (again, if this book really is what it claims and your acceptance of it or not will lead to either eternal paradise or eternal torture do you not think it would be very different? Why would God alow there to be so many passages full of bullshit, he would surely know that it would make many people question its authenticity, which would lead them to eternal damnation. Why would he punish rational thinking like that if he is all loving? To fuck with us?).

Thus no, religion and science do not complement each other well at all, the bible is full of things which today we know to be bullshit but some people try and explain away by saying that that part must not then be literal, it is just an incredible amount of denial. The fact that among leading scientists defined as members of the National Academy of Sciences just 7% hold belief to a personal God seems to suggest that religion and science do not complement each other no?

...aaaand im done.
