only about 5 or 6 hundred saw action, compared to the thousands of hawker aircraft. But the pwnage they brought thier pilots:D was mighty indeed.

^ Yup. The Hurricane was the real work horse of the RAF, the aircraft that broke the Luftwaffe. The Spitfire is its dead sexy younger sister, however. If a plane could ever be called jailbait, it`s the Spitfire.

And as a side note, I thought it funny that the link image is actually a Heinkel.

Top 3 WWII aircraft. Order in terms of performance would probably have been:
#1. P-51 Mustang
#2. Supermarine Spitfire
#3. ME-109

The ME-262 I don`t think should qualify since it was so limited in production despite being the first produced jet fighter.

I once saw some poor bastard die in one of these things at an airshow in Cheshire somewhere. He tried to do a loop the loop, but came up short and crashed into the ground. Instant ball of flame. Needless to say, I reckon he died on impact. Dunno what model it was though, I was only about 9ish.
