Abstract: We have discovered distinctive red/gray chips in all the samples we have studied of the dust produced by the destruction of the World Trade Center. Examination of four of these samples, collected from separate sites, is reported in this paper. These red/gray chips show marked similarities in all four samples. One sample was collected by a Manhattan resident about ten minutes after the collapse of the second WTC Tower, two the next day, and a fourth about a week later. The properties of these chips were analyzed using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The red material contains grains approximately 100 nm across which are largely iron oxide, while aluminum is contained in tiny plate-like structures. Separation of components using methyl ethyl ketone demonstrated that elemental aluminum is present. The iron oxide and aluminum are intimately mixed in the red material. When ignited in a DSC device the chips exhibit large but narrow exotherms occurring at approximately 430 °C, far below the normal ignition temperature for conventional thermite. Numerous iron-rich spheres are clearly observed in the residue following the ignition of these peculiar red/gray chips. The red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.

So I ask: IF, as is strongly suggested, AlQueda was not primarily responsible for the main act of terrorism that supposedly demonstrates their absolute and unlimited opposition to us, if indeed they might ultimately be a controlled asset to some large degree, then who are we to be afraid of? Who might wield a dirty bomb against us to foment terror?

Indeed then, what interest might actually be behind this rather frightening clip about black market nukes? Should we aquiesce to the fear?

I maintain that a simple bit of common sense speaks loudly to the issue: Normal people simply do not have the means to mount large scale terrorism. They are too busy trying to survive, and do not have the funds. The real force behind "big terrorism" is organised and funded at much higher levels. Sure, there are small guerilla level restances and actions done by normal people in desperate defence of their homes. If you call these honest people`s resistance by the same name, it even gives good camoflage. But the big scale activity is well beyond the ability of anyone but rogue political actors, big money, and governments fighting it out "off the books".

None of the nuclear powers will surrender their arsenal unless they all do it at the same time. which is very hard to realize.
until then, they will be telling each other to do so, like US is telling Iran.

it is only possible to crack down on the black market when there isn`t any government producing these warheads anymore. until then, the black markets will have a streaming supply of many dirty things.

Dude I`m sorry but people like you are worthless.

Your smart enough to make a point but too dumb to be rational.

Thermite can easily be made if you know how to make it. Most of the elements can be readily purchased and found almost everywhere. If you have a huge building with hundreds of offices you be probably be able to find the components to make thermite every couple floors.

You are as dumb as the morons that see Jesus in their toast. If you spend enough time looking for something you will eventually find it.

The thing you have to remember is that it doesn`t prove anything.

For your thermite theory to be true you would need to have way to many things coincide at once to even be possible.

Nano thermites don`t miraculously self-assemble, or this would be a very flammable world. You know, the ingredients for TNT, RDX, nitrocellulose, nitroglycerine and black powder are in your body in large quantities. C, H, N, O, S, K. But if you show up at after a gun fight with residue on you, or after a bombing, those residues have NO other possible explanation. They conclusively form the basis of many convictions. Chemistry is a wonderfull thing, and you might learn a bit from the paper I refered to.
